Say a little prayer...

Good luck to the boy. This is a routine thing these days but as a parent it is never routine when it's your child.

thoughts and prayers are with you. My son turns one today (at 6:55 PM) and he spent his first 2 weeks of life in the hospital. The first few days on a respirator. I can empathize as I hadn't even gotten to know my son and I was a wreck. Please keep us updated.

Ditto on the bitter feeling in your stomach when your child goes in for surgery.

I found a (benign) cyst next to my daughter's eyebrow when she was 6 mos. : doc said
they had to operate on her on her 1st birthday (the earliest a child can go
under anethesia.) She's fine but I think all of the white hair in my beard came from
that time.

A thousand blessings and prayers to Connor and to your family!

Good thoughts heading your way. I understand the parental anxiety well, especially when a high fever is involved.

One of my coworkers just went through this exact same thing with one of her children - 15 years old. Took him a bit to recover, but he was back to himself within a week after getting out of the hospital.

Thank you, everyone, for the prayers and good vibes. Connor's fever broke this morning, but the doctor still hasn't released him to come home yet. Secondary infections can be a sneaky beast, so they're keeping an eye on him until this evening. So far, though, things look good.

He got up and took a shower this morning and complained about the paltry breakfast they served him, so I'm thinking he's on the mend. :)

And again, thanks.
