Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage [Nothing can stop me now!! *evil laugh*]

Makes sense to me. They'd be like a "less" skilled druid. I guess for me though, I feel if I'm adding in another core class, I'm using a class that can work.

I'd probably have fish from the blood Sea come at much higher tarriff rates. Not sure taboo would have much to do with it, but it might help with the taxes and stuff.

I also toyed with The idea of the GR Shaman for Tremana Druids who don't worship titans, but that's just me.

No stopping you? Evil laugh?

Are you evil?

So there's Ghelspud and there's Termania . . . how many other continents are on the face of da Scarred Land?

Is there a full world map of da whole globie?
Well some days I am.

Dead,

Two and half. The latest S&SS book coming out in December detaisl them. And no, for the last time there is no globe.

MD,

Shamans are fine. I just haven't had time to use all of them. I was tied either for GR Shamans, Mongoose's or Spirit Shaman. However I feel GR's Shaman still the best overall.

Will the Scarred Land fit into the Great Wheel with not much problems?

Or would it be like fitting a cacti into a balloon?

Does the Scarred Land have a finite or infinite pantheon?

Is there an Overgod?

Are there Demonlords and Archdevils in the Scarred Land cosmology?

Apparently I'm neutral on the good/evil alignment axis.
Being dead often does that.

Ya, I thought I'd asked you about dat most scarrified globule before. Apologies. :o
Sokay. It happens. I just happen to know its not out and doubtful it will be out any time soon.

Short answer, yes. Longer answer: Other than the fact there are significant changes to eliminating a good number of GW planes, the Scarred Lands cosmology is relatively similar to that of the GW. However the Astral and the Etheral do not connect to each other. Therefore you can't pass from an Outer/Divine Plane into an Elemental one using the Etheral/Astral connection.

Not quite that bad. There are significant differences to what's in the Scarred Lands cosmology to what's in the GW, but it's mostly physical and reflective of the nature of the world.

I'd say having only 18 gods (not counting the ressurrection of Jandevos), is pretty finite. But you can always add more. I just prefer a tight but loose fitting panethon as it stands now.

No. We don't need something as redundant as that. The Titans helped to shape the present cosmos. (Although the Slacerians might have something to say about that as well...being Godminds and all...) So no freaking Ao running around golfing and/or being CEO of this world.

Not quite as you'd know them but yes they do exist. The Arch Devils are mostly in charge of keeping track of souls, bartering on behalf of Chardun (the LE god of the Iron Hells), and generally following Chardun's orders. Demon Lords/Princes DO exist but like their Arch devil companions, they aren't name Demogorgon or Orcus. Thus there is room for BoVD type stuff but generally not as we know it in the GW. However doesn't mean you can't have them there. Just means that things change. Example, the "Abyss" of the Scarred Lands doesn't circle down into 6,666 layers. It's just one massive layer with lots of room for things to change and grow depending on the power of the Demons. (Vangal though might come by and wreck things so be warned.) Same is true of the Iron Hells. Just one level. But that does mean each Demon Prince/Arch Devil can be much closer and use their armies in larger skirmishes than just sending off random demons and such.

Also one special aspect to the Scarred Lands cosmology is the Zodiac Planes. These are basically demiplaines associated with a Zodiac sign. They can only be accessed via the month they are in ascendence.

Just as an addendum, Demogorgon and Orcus (to name a few) aren't mentioned in Edge of Infinity. This doesn't mean they can't fit in the Pestilential Abyss. The Scarred Lands Abyss is a somewhat freeflowing melange of various lands of infinite size that has room to hold just about anything devious GM has to offer.

Sure, Vangals plane only covers one infinity as opposed to the 666 infinities of the Great Wheel. Still, how many infinities do you need :D

CCIII creature question for you.

The Phase Mass does 2d6+6 plus life drain with a tentacle hit.

It has an ability to absorb damage it does and convert that to temporary hit points for itself, but no listing for life drain. What does the life drain do?

So hey Nightfall, I just figured I would update you on my long-running Scarred Lands campaign, once known as 'the Scars Run Deep'. Man, the game has endured and the players still love it. We just ran session 57 last week and soon we'll hit the two year anniversary. EP miser that I can be, the characters are all in the 10-11 range.

They just retrieved half of the Globe of Aggamar, one of the founding quests of the campaign. Unfortunately, the other half rests in the hands of Anteas, battle mage and adviser to Calastia. And he knows they have it. In fact, he sent air elementals after them last session, initiating a crazy aerial chase.

The game has seen some inspiring and memorable events. Political ones, from the installation of a boy-king in Durrover to devil's bargains with a tribe of the Proud. Epic scenes, including the sealing and near-destruction of Burok Torn and the awakening of a titan's most powerful servant. And even a bizarre jaunt into the extraplanar realm 'The Labyrinth of Kytos'.

All in all, still a thoroughly enjoyable game, mostly due to the fantastic players I have. And of course, I pull from the source material whenever possible, as it has some really great stuff. I figure the campaign is about 2/3 complete, but we'll see.

Anyways, keep fighting the good fight, Nightfall!

Right Werner. There's plenty of room for them. Just that they'd kind be closer together. ;)

Voad,

I wish I could remember who wrote Phase mass so I could ask them. My ruling, it deals out temporary negative levels or ability score drains (Con most likely) which are also temporary. That's my call on that. (Just cause they are pretty powerful for a CR 12...)

Ruined, thanks for the update man! :) I thoroughly enjoyed it.
