[SciFi to DnD Coversion/Perry Rhodan] The Bridge to Eternity - and more!

Hi Knight Otu (and others)! :)

I managed to pick up a new Mythology/Occult book over the last few days and one of the entries was for 'Cosmocraters' which is greek for "world builders". If I remembered correctly aren't the Cosmocrats powerful beings in Perry Rhodan!?

Hi, all :)

(I'll be very curious to see what happened to the Mutants, and Pucky, and especially The Immortal that gave them the extended lifespans...oh, and little Thomas Cardiff.
)
I'm not sure if you will find information on Cardiff. If you don't, tell me what the last thing was that you read about him, and I'll tell you what happened afterwards.

Yes, you remembered correctly :). They are the most powerful entities known, although they are on par with the Chaotarchs, and more powerful entities have been hinted at during the stories surrounding Thoregon and (earlier) the Three Ultimate Questions (the third question - Who initiated the LAW, and what does it do?).

What is the title of the book, and what does it say about the Cosmocraters?

Hello Knight Otu and co. :)

The Book is called 'The Encyclopedia of the Occult' by Fred Gettings.

Its currently out of print (I got mine second hand).

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...05755/sr=1-18/ref=sr_1_18/103-5834641-1819854

There is only a very brief entry on the Cosmocrators:

Cosmocrators: A word of Greek origin meaning 'world builders'.

Not sure if there is any other material that could be related to Perry Rhodan? I checked Chaotarchs and Thoregon with no luck.

The book is some 250+ pages, with 2000+ entries. I will definately be recommending it in my IH bibliography.

Hello, Upper_Krust! :)

Hi Knight Otu mate! :)

Thank you for posting the title. Sadly, Amazon of germany doesn't have the book, too :(

To be fair I doubt the book is for everyone (although I thrive on books like that). I would suggest having a look for it at the local library (not sure if German libraries stock many English books; or if indeed the book has been translated to German?) rather than actually buying it. :)

Hi Upper_Krust!

I assume that the book might be offensive for religious people? (If so, I wouldn't be bothered by it too much).

As you have propably guessed from the lack of updates, I have currently much to do for the university, so there are no real updates coming for some time. :( (I posted something along this line on friday, and shortly thereafter, the boards were down for the database backup  - but I guess it's better that way - I wasn't in a good mood that day :p )

I do have something, however. Later today, I will post the history and overview thread that I proposed earlier in the new Sci-Fi forum. (It's here on the university computers - no additional work for me.)

I don't think so. Its just an encyclopedia - it doesn't really give an opinion (one way or the other) except in cases of the origins of certain obscure entries where the author gives his 'best guess'. It does have a lot of demon names (etc.), but if that offends people they are probably on the wrong message boards. ;)

Obviously work has to take priority over play.

I should really knuckle down and get 'you know what' finished in the next few weeks so I expect to be on the boards a bit less myself over the next month or so.

Everyones entitled to be in a foul mood now and again.

I didn't get to read your Friday post - anything I should know about?

I look forward to reading it! :)

Good luck with University mate! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I assume I read too much into your statement, then. :D. Encyclopedias can be fun, seeing so much you never knew when you read through it.

No problem, I understand that. :) How about a preview or two ;).
On a side note, I've read that you want to (among other changes) replace the Save DC for Annihilating Strike with the standard formula for Save DCs using the Charisma modifier? Wouldn't the Strength modifier be a better fit for the ability (I don't have the book yet :(, so I'm not too sure about it - but the original save was based on the damage dealt, right?)

Nothing important - I was angry about myself and my lazyness regarding the next few conversions - they are complete stat-wise (except details), but lack flavor text yet.

I look forward to reading it
It's posted in the new forum - currently, it is mostly reposts with a few changes here and there - but that might change ;).

Good luck with University mate! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Thank you :):)

:):)

The reason I would use the CHA bonus instead of STR is because the Annihilation shares many traits with Undead special abilities and they are generally CHA based.

Something like Irresistable Blows would be better served using a STR modifier.

Reports on the demise of this thread are mildly exaggerated.

Yes, I do remember that, millenia ago, I started this thread and promised updates  . Oh well, I shouldn't promise that much :( . But, I think I have the time during this week and the next to do some updates (shocking! )!

Of course, that requires me to come out of stasis after that shock that came from reading the proposed story of the PR-Movie trilogy. :p
