Scotley's and Leif's Constables of the 14th Ward [3.5E D&D] [OOC 02]

Leif, isn't T20 traveler with D&D/D20 mechanics? That should solve your combat issues nicely. I may be talking out of my ass here as I really don't know much about T20. I guess you could go the Star Wars/Shadowrun route and give the characters nifty cyber parts to replace the ones that get shot off...
I believe you're correct about what T20 is. [I mistakemly called it 'Traveller20' in my post, but that's what I meant.] But I wouldn't like a class-based system for Traveller with Feats and Skills and weapon proficiencies and everything. For everything else, I like the GURPS skill system. It just sucks for combat. Maybe we could find a way to mesh the two -- d20 combat and GURPS everything else? The problem is that d20 combat would rely upon d20 hit points and the hit points thing rests directly upon the class and level systems.

I've started playing Dungeon Overlord on FB. It's a Flash game, so when it starts, different fixed images are shown. This is one of my favorites. It reminds me of Bocephus. In the game, you build and manage dungeons, raising orcs, warlocks, etc. to attack the elves that live on the surface.

Sounds like an FB game I might finally be interested in! LOL.

Char Gen Methods

I just found this really cool method for generating a character -- found it right here on ENWorld! Here it is:

1. The player chooses a class, and then chooses 1 primary ability and 1 secondary ability.
2. For the primary ability, she rolls 14 + 1d4.
3. For the secondary ability, she rolls 12 + 1d6.
4. For the other four abilities, she rolls 4d6, drop the lowest, in order. That is, Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, Chr, skipping over her primary and secondary ability.

My only question is: What do you do if the secondary or "other" abilities wind up being higher than the primary ability because of bad luck? Do you permit any re-shuffling, or is that just tough luck? And how about if the DM gave the PCs a boost by making it 15+1d4 for primary, and 13+1d6 for secondary?
