My only question is this: Is Book in this movie?

Yes, but it's a minor role (apparently Ron was busy, thus preventing a more significant role).

As is Inara, for those concerned.

I just want a yes or now cuz I haven't seen any pics of him anywhere and I think he has as much to add to the story, if not more, than River.

Having attended one of the preview screenings, I got the impression that the movie at least covers much of what Joss wanted unfilmed episodes of the series to cover in the first season, and maybe even some things beyond the first year. There are some important things revealed, many revolving around River, that could have served as a driving quest on the series for at least the first season, maybe multiple seasons. Think Mulder's search for his abducted sister, or Dr. Kimball's search for the one-armed man.

But there are still some other loose ends which are not tied up, and could serve as the basis for future movies.

At our preview, Captain Tightpants indicated thatthere are still ways and reasons to reveal stuff in future films, including what you're talking about, Welv.
