SG-1. No Covert Class?

First Post
Well, we have a section of the Feats chapter dedicated to Covert Feats, but no class that's designed to make use of them more than the others. That's a shame, really. I checked the website, but couldn't find the class idea I was looking for.

Is there a Spycraft/Stargate class designed to make use of the Covert Feats? Possibly with a Sneak Attack progression? I saw a Sniper PrC, but it's not what I'm looking for. I want an infiltrator, an assassin, the recon guy, not someone who's going to kill you from 2 miles away. Someonw who'll kill you with a knife, from behind, in the dark.

The scout class is OK, but it's too outdoorsey, and doesn't recieve bonus Covert feats. Maybe I'm too picky, but I'm very disapointed that Stargate didn't include a class like this, even if it doesn't fit the MO of the game. How else am I going to build assassin NPC's?

You may want to try the Fixer base class on for size. Has both evasion and sneak attack class abilities along with a medium attack progression and both Hide and Move Silently as class skills. The Fixer is in the main Spycraft book. But it is also possible to create the type of character you describe by using the Pointman. Use his versatility class ability to choose both Hide and Move Silently as class skills, then at 6th level choose sneak attack +1d6 as his cross class ability.

I don't have the Spycraft corebook, so I'm out of luck there unless someone can point me to an online copy. It's OGL, so it can be reproduced, right? I couldn't convince someone to send me a copy of that Fixer class, could I? I haven't been able to find a Spycraft SRD online anywhere.

The Fixer looks promising, and the Faceman sounds interesting. The Pointman class isn't what I'm looking for, because it's schtick is working with a group, and I'm looking for a class that could work well on it's own.

Check out the Resources section at http://www.spycraftrpg.com for Spycraft Lite, a free download to preview and even play Spycraft. They've just re-launched the site with the focus currently being their new CCG but in the left navigation there are links for Role-Playing Games.

To be honest, this is why I think D20 Modern is superior. You don't need to invent a new class for every archetype.

you dont have to in spygate either. The pointman would be great for covert stuff using his regular feats.

I Downloaded Spycraft Lite. I'm pleased it was released, as it's a great resource, but as stated, it only has first level progressions for each class, and I need a fill 20 level progression.
I dropped $50 for Stargate, and I don't have the money to buy Spycraft, especially for one class. I don't want to go to the bookstore with a pad and a pen and copy the Fixer class down - I doubt I'd engratiate myself to the staff if I did. Could someone with the Spycraft Corebook post the class for me, I'd be grateful.

I could use the pointman, but there would be abilities granted by that class that don't go along with the concept I have in mind. For instance, the ability to spend action points on others isn't terribly useful to a character designed to work either alone, or with a group operating under radio silence. It could work, but it would be less than optimal, and I like optimal.

Actually, The Stargate Book was designed (according to AEG) as a branch off of the Spycraft series, so you really shouldn't try to play Stargate without the Spycraft book. It works a WHOLE lot better that way. The Stargate book is designed to use Spycraft Classes also.
