OOC: Mathew uses the 'Weapon Augentation, Personal' infusion to make the morning star 'Merciful'. I weas wrong about it not working on my cross bow but I would still like to borrow it being we will be in a confined area. I will also use an action point to cast it in 1 round bringing my total action points down to 4.

Mathew looks around to see if anyone is coming as he waits for his turn to climb.

Curran, looking one last time at the nice safe ground beneath his feet, grasps his holy symbol. Host shine on our venture, and Balinor grant us a swift and successful hunt. Then he grabs hold of the rope and tries to follow the ascending rogue.

ooc: go ahead and borrow it, but realize that I don't carry much else for close combat.

With varying levels of ease, everyone eventually manages the rope, with Lorth loping up with ease and Mathew struggling under his equipment's weight. The door from the balcony, easily bypassed by Balnibar to Aldus' chagrin ("I must be looking at that."), opens into a second story hallway. The hallway is well appointed, and along the wall hanging from different hooks and shelves are a career's worth of exotic treasures---most likely adventuring spoils. A heavy staff decorated with goblinoid runes, a longspear made out of bone, scorpion idols made of some odd gemstone, and a graceful looking shield made of a deep colored wood. Balinbar can tell at a glance that the items are all valuable, though he would need more time to examine them.
[sblock=Genithar][Kn: History]

From your academy studies, you believe you recognize the staff as Dhalkani origin, the great goblinoid empire. The scorpion idols and the bone spear appear to be from the Xen'drik elves due to their scorpion fetish. The other items seem to belong to other various cultures; you expect, for example, that the shield in Aerenal.[/sblock]There are two doorways exiting the room, one to the north and another on the southwestern wall where Aldus indicates his bedroom lies. A stairwell down leads to the first floor.

Corran holds up his hand and points to his ear, he then points down the stairs, a look of concern in his eyes.
Once he has everyone's attention, he motions toward the bedroom.

The Wizard's eyes narrow behind his spectacles at the amassed items upon the walls.

Tearing away his gaze with obvious reluctance, Genithar puts a finger to his mouth, indicating silence.

Moving to the bedroom door, he slowly tries to open it. Should he find it locked, the Wizard points to Balnibar, and motions the gnome toward the bedroom door and pantomimes inserting a key into a lock and turning it.

Finally, with a nod to the companions, the robed elf brings his hood back up to obscure his features and slowly draws his longsword, a blade of heavy Karrnathi make, from the plain leather scabbard that holds it.

Mathew coils up the rope behing the group leaving the grappling hook in place so all they need to do is drop the rope and decend. But this way no one will see the evidence of their arrivalor be able to follow.

Upon entering the room Mathew silently eyes the artifacts wondering in they have any magical value. He slowly follows behind the rest of the group.

Balnibar notes the great wealth assembled here. These can't be ordinary robbers, he thinks. Even one of these things would be worth a fortune.

He carefully examines the bedroom door, entering into standard search protocol for traps and the like. After a quick standard search, he stops, and sneaks over to Cheep. He whispers, "Mr. Thunderbanner? Would you have any other keys or trap bypasses for your property? I would rather not disassemble any existing defenses you have. Also... what is that alcove for?" He points to the southeast corner of the trophy room.
