Shadow-walker

What happens if a character already in play elects to undergo the ritual to become a shadow-walker? Does he lose a level? It goes for all templates with level adjustments..

I'd say no, because a lycanthrope has a level adjustment of +3, and I do not think someone bitten by a wereanimal loses 3 levels..

They basically just have to wait longer to gain a new level. So, if a sixth level PC becomes a shadow walker and the template has a level adjustment of +1, then that character would need enough exp to become an 8th level character before they could gain another level.
