but reskinned BD&D with its to-hit tables and saving throw tables just isn't for me at this point
yeah thats my problem too. When I backed Dolmenwood I did venture into OSE and I liked it, but I have to say that Shadowdark made OSE for me kinda obsolete. It gives me the OSR game-vibe without the annoying mechanics of it and with the streamlined 5e core of ascending AC, easy ability checks with ADV/DISADV etc. My first reaction to the rules in Dolmenwood was basically "oh I did NOT miss save vs. death and all this stuff" Luckily the setting and adventure content can relatively easy be converted, although Dolmenwood has a lot of gameplay that is quit tightly coupled to the setting and vice versa, a complete conversion would be a bit more complicated I think.

In my upcoming sandbox game I have in the starting region one border to one big fairy forest and I think when detailing that region I will rip a lot out of the Dolmenwood setting.

I don't know what Necrotic Gnome's policies are on conversions, etc., but I definitely think there's a market -- for a free product, if need be -- that converts the races, classes and spells over to Shadowdark. OSE/BD&D monsters can mostly be converted on the fly, but people would probably appreciate those being converted, too.

Given how much is in Dolmenwood, though, it would be a substantial product to produce.

Cracked open my 'working docs' folder for SD for the first time in awhile, and its actually been way longer than I thought. I havent done anything since 7/15. Depressing.

I've got some rough notes of a Class, I'm going to ponder at the gym and get that done over the weekend I think.

Then for Spooky Month, do that small trainer adventure.

Thats the goal anyway to get back into things.
