Probably more focused on wilderness exploration and travel? Just a guess though. If it comes like that I can imagine myself switching DM screens when switching from wilderness to dungeon or town etc.
It's a little confusing to me, since there was never a rationale for making one that I saw, and since the contents will eventually be crowdsourced, I don't get the appeal of backing it, myself, other than folks who want one of everything Shadowdark. (And those folks definitely exist.)

That said, if they can figure out how to improve on the original, they will certainly get my attention.

As a random talking point, does anyone else think the Shadowdark core rulebook (the thick little hardcover one) is one of the richest, most practically useful TTRPG resources ever devised by man?

Oh, the tables in that book... My goodness, what a glorious little tome.
I use it for my 5E 2024 game all the time to roll up NPCs, locations, mutations and other nonsense.

Yep. After getting the quickstart books, I was a little curious about how much value Kelsey could add in the core book, overlooking the handful of random tables in the GM's quickstart book. She really drilled down into making those a very rich resource in the full book.

Same, I also started with the quickstart books and was actually resistant to paying for the core book for a while because everywhere I'd seen it it was shrink wrapped, and I didn't expect it to be necessary.

Yeah, I was wrong there. It may not be officially necessary, but thank jeebus I took a chance because it's an absolute goldmine.

If you combine Shadowdark with The Monster Overhaul you'll have enough materials to run fantasy games for a lifetime.
