I also like to project the map on the wall using Owlbear Rodeo, so that I can use fog of war to only reveal what the players explore. I either move their tokens where they tell me, or I let them pass around an iPad in player mode.
Oh cool! I want to do this so bad. I have a pretty good short-throw projector and portable PC, so it's just a matter of finding a place to project it by my table (walls are covered unfortunately).

Might just get a digital map case, but afraid of the prep it would entail.

CS 6.

I like it. The whole package is essentially an open ended city adventure in and of itself, that unless I missed a page (I hate reading PDF) is just generated via rolling and engaging with carousal/rumours, and so on.
That approach is becoming more and more popular for setting books. I dig it, personally, since it means that my City of Masks will likely be very different than yours, and probably each will reflect what we're most into and best at.

Yeah, having somewhat given this a first pass over, looking back over CS 4 with its whole adventure arc and multiple dungeons, exploration, 3 with the gauntlet, 2 with the desert sword and sorcery vibe, and 1?

Just how good a designer is she? Every time something new comes out, I get inspired to work on stuff.

I've been running vol 1 for about 8 months or so using OSE. Its been fantastic - easy to riff adventures off the random tables and the included dungeons/locations are very good.
I plan to use it with Dolmenwood (which should arrive any day now...). The trick is to not use it as its own hex crawl (because it's a little bit too weird), but to add bits and pieces here and there like a fairy spice.

I keep looking at Dolmenwood, and my finger hovers over the "buy" button, and then I think..."No....someday they'll port it to Shadowdark."

Of course they won't do that because the system they wrote it for is their own system, which they want to sell more of. But somehow I still cling to that hope the way some people think WotC will eventually revive 4e and the Warlord.
