Yeah, I've mashed the 8 Bit Jam generator over and over, and these titles just leave me cold, as opposed to how the Appendix N Jam titles lit my brain on fire. I do expect this to produce a lot of fun stuff by people whom this speaks to more.

Which is fine. I have a DMs Guild thing to put out this week and several candidates for Shadowdark things to put up on DriveThruRPG/itch.io next month.

The TV show “Grimm” called its boar/pig-Wesen “Bauerschwein.” Do with that what you will.
As a German... no, thats so bad. Reminds me of the funny German names from the anime "Frieren" (german for freezing). The characters have German first names with hilarious meanings "heaven", "far", "fork", "being".
I love Shadowdark. it is great fun. But I really think Shadowdark's success says more about people wanting a "simple 5E" than it does about people explicitly wanting to do old school dungeon crawling. Just looking at the broad selection of ShadowDark hacks, from Gamma World to Deadlands to Cyberpunk, most of them AREN'T very "shadowdarky."
Which is funny because a lot of 5e products I learned about also didn't feel "dnd" at all with famous examples like 5e Star Wars. I think its just natural if you have a simple and flexible game system people will write all sort of hacks for it. Thats the magic of versatile design.
