Shadowdark looks so good!

The Seer is something I can see myself using in solo play, or when running a one-person game someone in a certain mood. I like it being there as an option not taken very often.

Yes she did. She explains that the classes for a Zine are for the most part contained to the setting. She says she want to experiment with the luck die mechanic.

Edit: I don’t follow on the no cap on increasing the fate die talent. A level 10 character will have rolled on the table 5 times and in the unlikely event they rolled 3-6 each time they would be at 8 uses per day.

The way I wish the ability had been written is that it works like a spell (meaning that if you fail you lose it.) Then the talent could have reduced the DC by 1.

I hate hate hate hate hate "per day" abilities, and for the most part Shadowdark avoids them, except that they seem to be plentiful in the Zine classes.

I agree on per day abilities in general but here I like the 3/day because it thematically aligns with 3 Norns/Fates. My change would rather be to start the luck die at d4 and then increase the die size to d6, d8 etc when that talent is rolled. Luckily this game is OSR adjacent so we can both just go ahead and make the change without rules lawyers swarming
and devouring us - hooray!

That big picture of the hard-bitten veteran duck, basically Howard in the Cleveland of his era, may persuade me to use ducks one day yet.
