Shadows Descending - Part 1

Grym scouts about 700 feet ahead of the party, sniffing the air for any out of the ordinary scents before they can be distrubed by his smelly companions. Every other minute he appears beside the lead characters and reports on the road ahead before resuming his scouting duties.

You've been traveling throught the forest for about two hours when Grymsnarl suddely detects a strange scent. He have never experienced such a smell before, but something in the back of his head makes him think of that fatefull night all those years ago; when his pack was eradicated. Luckily you are upwind of whatever it is that smells wrong, so you were able to scent it before it could scent you.

Continuing to head toward the temple waiting for Grym to report back every so often I make sure I have somewhat prepared for a fight with a few defensive enchantments.

(ooc: Eeek, it does help to look at one's character sheet to see just what powers one does have. So I can not go invisible which I thought I could but I will use the Invovations of Entropic Warding & Fell Flight.)
 

Grymsnarl Blinkdog Rogue

Once Grymsnarl detects the odour he becomes most wary, he drops back to the group and refuses to scout by himself any longer, siting saftety in numbers as his main reason. Once the party is closer to the smell Grym will try and direct them to its source with his scent ability.
 

Bendith disappears with a flicker, and the whirr of wings follows immediately after.

"Anything out there?" he murmurs to his bow, looking for a report back from Gravestrike's Deathwatch ability.

He heads up into the trees to get more of an overview.
 

Slizz hisses, wondering what's the scent coming from. "I can cast a spell that will grant someone greater strength. Who should wish it?" she says to the rest of the group.
 

Andros waits for Bendlith to report, half hoping he will be serious, half that he isn't.
I still remember the time he got me to charge into the middle of that picnic.
He will keep moving slowly in the diretion that grym indicates, listing for sounds of movement.
 

As the group gets closer to the place where grymsnarl caught the scent, you can hear growling and thrasing around further ahead. It sounds like a pack of dogs, or perhaps wolfs, juding by the snarls. They don't seem to be aware of you yet.

Bendith flits closer, treetop to treetop, always conscious of the wind direction in relation to the sounds and doing his best to stay downwind...
 

Slizz hisses, "hmm... mysterious." Zim, her snake, twists around her.

Slizz makes a Knowledge (nature) check to see if she can distinguish what's making the noise.
Roll: 18 +12 = 30
