How civilized is their society? ( You got me, I didn't read the six pages on the world. But I did look.)

Maybe you could change the profenciency to Harpoon and net as opposed to spear and bows. Or how about a free proficientcy in hide armor (furs and stuff).

That may be two eskimoey.

If they aren't real civilized make their favored class warrior.

I imagine that their society is somewhat primative, but not to the extent that they are all barbarians class wise... thus my suggestion of ranger as the favored class.

I was also thinking that the primary spell-using class for the race would be Druid...

This would be what I would do:

---Arctic Elves get +2 to wisdom and –2 to Cha
---Medium Sized
---Base Speed 30ft, Swim 20ft
--- +2 to all saving throws vs cold/ice spells or effects
---Cold Resistance 5
---Low Light Vision
---Proficient in harpoon, net, and hide armor
---+2 to swim, balance and wilderness lore (arctic)
----They can detect unsafe ice like a PHB elf does secret doors
---Automatic Languages: Elven
---Favored Class: Ranger


Little different I guess.

This does become less "elfy". Maybe this could be another "arctic" race.

---Artic Elves get +2 to wisdom and Dexterity
---Medium Sized
---Base Speed 30ft
---Immunity to magical sleep spells and effects.
---He is able to travel across snow at his normal speed, leaving no tracks. The boots also enable him to travel at half normal speed across the most slippery ice (horizontal surfaces only, not vertical or sharply slanted ones) without falling or slipping. Finally, boots of the winterlands warm the wearer, as if he were affected by an endure elements (cold) spell.
---Low Light Vision
---Proficient in all types of spears and bows
---+2 to all spot, Swim, listen, and search checks. They can detect secret doors as a normal elf can
---They can detect unsafe ice like a PHB elf does secret doors

I went witha little more power thus the ecl. I think this has enough of the old traits with some new ones to show how the elf has slowly evolved.

For +1 ECL, I would go ahead and drop the -2 Cha so that Sorcerer is a viable class for them.

Arctic Elves function as if wearing Boots of the Winterlands.



That would add the nice bonus of making it extremely difficult to track them back to their home cities and such... a nice advantage for a race living in such a savage world

I like the boot of winterland idea. I have the charisma negative becasue of the effect living in the cold has had. Basically taking the following line and applying a game mechanic:

Personality: The Arctic Elves have changed and have become as cold as the weather they live in. .

Do you think that is no needed?

It's good flavor but it shouldnt affect their games stats. Because I do not think that being emotionally cold would affect the strength of their personalities, or their physical beauty.
