"That is indeed an impressive and usefull talent, Shoot. I have fixed warforge both with hammer and tongs as well as with magic, and the superiority of magical methods cannot be overstressed. I hope when we find employment we are able to do so together, as both your proficiency and friendliness will make you a very desirable travelling companion."

Anvuss returns his gaze to the olive skinned human female, wondering if he was sufficiently clear in directing his comment to her. Perhaps he should ask again?

Anvuss turns his attention to the newcomer as she makes her way quietly to the bar.

"I do not suppose you are a potential employer? Or a student of magic?"

The woman breaks into a friendly smile to Anvuss, though not answering just yet. She continues to scan the tavern until she's accounted for all present.

"Hi." She thrusts her hand out towards Anvuss. "A potential employer? You bet. And you must be looking for work. It seems my contacts were correct & I have come to the right place. I'm Raven Thorn, until recently of Flamekeep. I'm looking for work myself, actually, though if I had more gold, I'd be looking into the hijacking of my caravan. Who are you?"

"I am Anvuss." The warforged shakes her hand. "I specialize in the use, amplification, construction and repair of magical tools. At least, I intend to, but essentially all magical tools of interest are currently outside my financial resources. I was trained by house Cannith in the very last days of the war."

Anvuss considers her statement.

"Your caravan was taken from you? A caravan is a sizable train of merchants and land transportation, yes? How was it taken? Was it recent? Could a small force conceivably recover it? It would seem likely that if we recovered your sizable financial enterprise, you would in the process recover more than enough funds for a reasonable fee, would not that be the case? Were you injured in the hijacking? If so, my friend Shoot may be able to help. He has great facility with magical berries."

Raven continues to smile at the charming warforged. "Yes, a 'sizable train of merchants and land transportation' was taken from me. North of here near Dragon's Crown. Hobgoblins, with a little help from some traitors among my guards. It was some sort of plot, I think, to seize some chests belonging to House Sivis. The traitor had some claw insignia he put on to show himself to the hobgoblins. I don't have much else to go on, though. I'm fine. Uninjured, thank you. I suspect we could get reward if we did recover the contents of the caravan. You could anyway. I could hardly expect a reward myself, since I was the one who lost it."

Despite her story, and her commanding presense, Raven looks very young. Not many women, or men, of her age would be put in charge of a caravan.

OOC: If you haven't guessed, this is a PC, not an adventure recruiter. If anyone were so inclined as to craft an adventure from her backstory, I would be thrilled. I wish Patlin would, as he's done such a fine job of it before, and he has oodles of time on his hands now that he's finished painting his minature dragon. But I suppose he couldnt' then take his own PC along, now could he?

Bloodtalon listens to the throng of people now in the inn and backs even further into the corner. Such large crowds of big folks make him nervous. As he edged towards the back he heard voices from the back room. Ah that's right the paladin had come from that room. I wonder if my presence wouldn't help divert their nefarious deeds from affecting the Gate. he pondered to himself.

There was a short pause as Shoot struggled to comprehend Anvuss's meaning. Then he brightened and said,"I like you, too, Anvuss. Maybe we can make scrolls again sometime."

On the floor, Fang nervously licked his chops. Crowds weren't his thing any more than that of the one in the corner, who's scent reminded Fang of a crow more than a human. Fang wondered if it was good to eat.

Kharas take a long sip before looking at Ahki in the eyes. "With that damned rain, it wasn't easy to see things around. And I don't remember you have tried anything to stop him before I got attacked. It's easy to tell that after, but that warforged could have chosen you instead of me, and it could have been you who would have finish lying on the ground." The dwarf take a second long sip of his McGiffin mug, and put it empty on the table. "Let's go. I think we wasted enough time." The dwarf stands up but lose his balance for a short moment before recoeving it. "What do we wait for?"

ooc: Two adventures at a time is about my limit, I'm afraid. ;) The Dragon was painted ~a year ago, the photo is recent because I'm playing with a freeware photoshop-like program called "the gimp." It was an experiment in deleting all the mundane stuff behind the dragon and replacing it with a nice pattern. :) I figured she was probably a PC, but you can't blame a guy-like-mechanism for trying!

Aidan, his question having gone unnoticed in the bustle, steps back so as to not be in the way. Upon hearing Raven's story, he makes his way over to her. "I couldn't help but over hear, dear lady, and if this fine warforged here," he indicates Anvuss, "Has offered to help, then you are fortunate, because he seems to be a capable and committed ... adventurer. I would also like to offer my assistance, free of any charge. Aidan ir'Allistair, at your service." He makes a brief reach out for her hand, and if she offers it to him he takes it and kisses it lightly, otherwise he continues his hand motion and smoothly converts it to look like a natural part of a short, polite, bow.

Not knowing much about proper behavior, Anvuss concludes that Aidan is probably a good model.

"Certainly. I also would be willing to help free of charge. Of course, should we succeed and a reward become available, that would be extremely convenient."

ooc: Who knows, maybe some nice DM will pick up the plot hook! ;)
