The judge shakes his head sadly as Rathan smashes his opponent to the ground. “It is futile to employ the northstar style against one who has trained in the use of that style. Temuro, you must learn to pay attention to your opponent’s styles and techniques, so that you do not repeat this elementary error. Point to Rathan.”

One flag Rathan, three flags neutral.

*Rathan now switches to a more gracefull style... the lotus.... he fludily scatters his opponents advance and gracefully moves in to deal a couple of crippling blows to the neck and heart.....*

2: The lotus blossom scatters the ricefield; averts the push of the stone!

3: The supreme scythe speaks atop the ocean; parries the terror of the garden!

After standing up from prone, Temuro adopts the scythe style, ready to parry the strikes of Rathan

The judge claps politely. “A skillful performance from both combatants,” he observes. “When the lotus spreads its blossom through the ricefield, a poor harvest is certain for the innocent farmer. But the other move is far stronger; the supreme scythe is Death, and none may stand against its decrees. Temuro’s perfect defense against Rathan’s attack only seals a victory that was already guaranteed. Point to Temuro.”

Four flags neutral.

Temuro’s Hand:
1: The chain sweeps next to the sea; fends off the cut of the bird!

2: The ki-rin punches by the ruins; defends against the rolling of the stone!

3: The chain drifts through the vineyard; dominates the violence of the sky! *yen*

4: The dragon cuts the cavern; waves away the gaze of the farm!

5: The northstar ravages the plain; parts the stab of the tides! *yen*

Rathan’s Hand:
1: The sword attacks the vineyard; averts the onslaught of the bird! *yen*

2: The grasshopper lies facing the canyon; parts the throw of the river!

3: The dagger spins before the orchard; dodges the slash of the tides!

4: The whip scatters the volcano; waves away the drive of the bird!

5: The oak flies across the cemetery; avoids the terror of the shell!

*Rathan scatters his opponents balance as he moves in to knock him to the ground...*

4: The whip scatters the volcano; waves away the drive of the bird!

2: The ki-rin punches by the ruins; defends against the rolling of the stone!

Temuro adopts the ki-rin style, ready to defend against Rathan's chain style.

“Temuro defends effectively against the tumbled stones of the scattered volcano, but his attack is flawed; the noble ki-rin runs upon four hooves, and has no fists with which to punch. Rathan, for his part, uses a powerful attack, but his defense is irrelevant. Nonetheless, his move is stronger as a whole. Point to Rathan.”

One flag Rathan, three flags neutral.

*Rathan summons a great holy sword to slash his opponent and defend aginst his next onslaught.....*

1: The sword attacks the vineyard; averts the onslaught of the bird! *yen*
