As concluding comment. D&D 2024 is ten years worth of errata all in one place.I'm not going to belabor this point with you. Agree to disagree.

My dude. I already - to correctly use the word 'literally' - posted the LITERAL text from the 2024 PHB page 5. The first sentence LITERALLY says "This is the 2024 version of the fifth edition Player's Handbook."
That is - again, to use your term, - literally saying it is Fifth edition, a new version but still FIFTH EDITION.
Of course, neither TotV nor LU are any version of the 5th edition Player's Handbook. They are different books that use the same core rules base.Marketing spin. Its 5th in the same way Tales of the Valiant and Level Up are 5th.

This is the crux of my misunderstanding with @Yaarel . He keeps talking about why whereas my concern is what. Why is irrelevant to what. All of the new versions, TotV, LU, and 5.5, stand on top of the 5.0 SRD.
Regardless, 2024 is not '5.0' as 2024 does not include the Half-Elf.
At the same time. The absence of the Half Elf mechanics is a difference in setting. It would be incorrect to mischaracterize it as a difference in edition.Exactly, I dont really care about the word twisting.
Is Half-Elf in the 2024 PHB, if so, what page.
Thats it.

The way to clarify if half-elf is playable is to ask the group or DM if it’s playable.Terms and definitions are relevant if people want any kind of clarity. It's not pointless, unless people want to just assume their version is the truth.
That's not how meaningful discussion can take place.
Is Half-Elf present? Some are claiming it is, when apparently it's not in the book at all.
Pointless indeed.
