Bah. Everyone should speak French. That way, you would not have all these "but how the heck do you pronounce 'half-drow/half-ixixachitl heucuva ?'"

My favourite from above was the British paladins vs Ozzie Barbarians. I can see that working, automatically.

In my brother FR campaign, Sembians were English, Zhents had really bad German accents, Dalelands were "oo-ah countrified" types...etc etc. I think Thayans may have been Italian...

As a Cuban-American, I've decided to convert my Web site into the predominate spoken language of the United States - Spanish.

:)

Edit: My Irish mother would be insulted if I didn't offer a Gaelic option as well.

And, of course, "philosopher" to "sorcerer"... or was that not Webster? ;)

I half expected the latest Harry Potter film to be called "Harry Potter and the Room of Things Not Known by Many People" for its US release. :)

You can't blame us for having moved beyond alchemy. This science thing is great, you guys should try it! ;)

Gah, it's soda, not pop or soda pop or soddie or coke. (coke is a freaking kind of soda, or a drug but that's something completely different)

It's hoagie, not sub.

On a somewhat funny but yet sad note had an English friend come over to the states one time and he got the crap kicked out of him in NY for saying out loud that he was gonna go and smoke a fag.

In English... Well, written english and spoken english are too different languages altogether.

Je ne sais pas de ce que vous parlez.

Okay, I count 3 silent s's and one silent z in one short sentence - and you say English is written different from how it's spoken??

Gah! What part of Michigan are you from, Tsyr? As far as I'm concerned, any non-alcoholic carbonated drink is a coke! :)

No, they're pops. Faygo pop, dammit.

I dunno what he means by fried sandwiches though. Everyone knows grinders are the baked ones, like at Mancinos. Mmmm, Mancinos.

Subway serves subs, the poor man's grinder.

And pop is a kind of music exemplified by the likes of N'Sync and Brittney Spears, not a drink!

Ahh, though. Thanks for mentioning Mancino's -- I may have to schedule a second lunch...
