D&D 3E/3.5 Should it have been in 3.5?

I'm glad to see the Planes and Epic stuff appear in 3.5 (and even happier to see it in the SRD). However, given the nature of the revision, what do YOU think should have been added:

Limits to this discussion (please?):
1. It must be in WotC published product only.
2. It should either really be a useful to any campaign item, or something better than what is in 3.5.

For example, if your campaign plays with FRCS and all the splatbooks, Magic of Faerun, Savage Species, etc., perhaps you think some spells in those books should have been moved to the core, or some feats, or mechanics.

That's what I'm looking for here - and NOT "3.5 suxx0r$ and ur question r stupid!!!!" comments.

Thanks!

But seriously: I haven't checked out the MM yet (waiting for Amazon to ship still) but I hope they handled ECL races well.

a very very very minor suggestion

Personally, I would rather have seen Holy Liberator (Dotf) than Red Wizard of Thay (FR) as a prestige class in the DMG.

I agree. Far better parallel with Blackguard, and the Red Wizard doesn't really have a campaign-specfic feel, anyway-- it's an uberspecialist.

I think they missed a chance to let players customize their games by not including a lot of stuff from D20 Modern as I've noted in another thread including action points, reputation, and occupation.

Korimyr, check out the latest Dragon (310), it has Paladin's from every (non-evil) alignment. Not the Holy Liberator, but similar...

There are two things I would have liked to see:

1) Rules for creating prestige classes. They could have stuck with the original handfull and used those extra pages to give us some good guidelines on creating them.

2) In stead of all the +2/+2 feats how about 1 generic feat that gives a +2 to any two skills which have a synergy bonus between them or something like that. A generic feat instead of a mess of static feats, especially when those static feats are already in the splat books.

Particularly retool some of the other broken prestige classes. A little more clarification would help on Singh Rager (OA), Templar (DotF), and the Monk one that gives Wis bonus to hit and damage on unarmed attacks!

Frankly, I would REALLY have liked to seen them fix the "double stat" option so that they gave a flat bonus instead the addition of "two stats" to doing any one thing (like Monk's AC).

Unarmed Sunder for monks should have been covered in the PHB, and is under discussion here. Basically, why do you need the feat Eagle Claw Attack(ECA) from Oriental Adventures when you can sunder a weapon with an unarmed strike as it stands in the PHB? It makes ECA unnecessary and completely worthless for a higher level monk. Should have been covered IMO.

I would have liked to see the Samurai (and a couple notes for a western version) as an example for the alternate class rules.

Shades are simply too cool not to be core (largely redundant in feeling with drow, but I don't like to use drow).

The Illithid Savant (the one GREAT thing about Savage Species) would have been nice just to have an exemplar monster PrC.

I would also like to have seen a few "geared for bad guy" spells in the DMG. They could have used some of the less explicit BOVD spells, like Grim Revenge (which had style).
