Sid Meier's Pirates!

Anyone else got this game pre-ordered? It sounds like it'll be a real open-ended rpg with a lot of strategic elements as well. So let's kickstart the hype machine so we get be even more dissapointed when it doesn't meet our expectations!

This game does in deed look like the bomb, but I'm not sure I'll pick it up. Maybe buy it on my b-day.

The original game was awesome, although it was an RP only in the loosest sense. I don't expect the revision to be dramatically more RP, but just as full of piratical goodness.

Hey! I remember the first Pirates! game! Played it on my friend's Commodore computer. Dang! That was a long time ago.

I checked the system requirement, but usually that's the minimum. What's the recommended requirement?

Heh Pirates was a game I played on three different computers... Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga (the best version), and a Tandy IBM clone.

Pirates Gold had a little problem with the Straits of Gibralter, which were about 1 pixel wide...
