Silly House Rules

Heh, another one that has started to bug me is that for some reason my Dm allows Wizards to have ALL of the spells from the PHB in one spellbook and he can cast them spontaneously!!! He allows Clerics to cast all of their spells spontaneously as well. WOAH!!!! I just find it funny that he immediately assumes any other book than the PHB is overpowered when he allows this option.

Not to mention it leaves Sorcerer's out in the cold. And it takes up a lot of time for the Wizard player to look up a specific spell.

Also everyone in my group assumes anything is overpowered other then the PHB even if they have not read it at all and have no information on the subject.

Yikes! I would suggest remedying this with a variant magic system. That, or getting them all back in line with a few applications of Ti Kwan Leap.

Ohhh yes, I too suggest liberal application of Ti Kwon Leep upon your DM, to readjust his head to fit right and resume rational functioning. Or suffer massive concussions and forget all about D&D, leaving you to find a better DM, whichever. :D :D :D

Silly House Rules?

Two rules I've had which might be considered silly:

1. No drinks on the gaming table; and
2. If you can't find the rule in ten minutes, we're moving on. Often this is actually 5 minutes, or the length of time it takes for everyone else to use the bathroom.
