Silverthorne Games releases Book of Templates - Deluxe Edition

Thanks so much for the kind words, everyone! We appreciate all the positive feedback we've gotten so far on the Deluxe Edition. Needless to say, it does a body good to hear such things.

I should mention, too, that we couldn't have done it without everyone involved in the project from Khur (Chris Sims, our co-author, editor, and layout guru), KF72 (creative genius that he is), Sirwhiskers (for help, support, advise, editing, and patience with yours truly), my wife (who listened to me blather on and on about this project for well over a year - while pregnant!), and the great contributors and artists such as Sean K Reynolds, M. Jason Parent, Jeremy D. Mohler, Cara Mitten, Erica Balsley, Greg Ragland, and Devon Apple! Whew! Thanks, everyone!

Props also to Phil Reed for putting up with me. I still owe you that special project, Phil! :)

Enjoy making new critters, folks, and stay tuned for another few big announcements from Silverthorne Games! They are very cool and also template-related, so we think you're gonna like it ;)

Cheers and humble thanks!
Ian

PS - I will be out of town coaching a HS soccer tournament this weekend, so the free upgrades will be going out next week. Some have already gone out, so to those lucky folks - enjoy! :) More later!

Ack! Double post!!

ACK! another week till I see the templated goodness?! Sigh, the humanity! :D

Well, seems I'll have to keep that MSN address open a little longer ;)

BTW, I didnt see the anthromorphic vermin in the list. Did it not make it?

Also, how does the drider in the DBoT compare to the ones I've been using from Dogs of War? just curious

What was going to be the Anthropomorphic Vermin is now the variant half-humanoid 'simplate' called the Verminoid. See under the Half-Humanoid Template for details.

Chris Sims here. I'd like to echo Ian's thanks to the team that made this book possible.

To answer your question, the "verminoid" is still in there. It's under the auspices of the "Half-Humanoid", which includes rules for anthropomorphic animals, anthropomorphic vermin, anthropomorphic oozes (yep, you read right), and stuff for mixing and diluting other races. That specific template also includes five PC races, rules for half-humans, and more! It was a last-minute decision to combine rules for these things into one template. Frilf and I agreed it would provide more utility.

I hope you all enjoy the book! I'm very excited to get some feedback.

Glad to here it Dr. N. of course, your players might not agree with our enthusiasm once you spring some nasty new creations upon them. Poor Dru and Di'Fier! ;)

May I suggest the Ebon Servitor, Necrovore and Quickened. A few of my favorites from the book.
