I just wanted to let you guys who worked on this tto kniw that, in my opinion, yall did an AWESOME job----be looking for the first of my 'verminoids' on the silverthorne message boards (btw does yall boards have a 'file attachment' capability so I can post artwork w/'em?)

I haven't received a free link either, and I since I had an -urgent- need for it, I went ahead and bought it again. Feel free to either give my free copy to a random ENWorld person (preferably a cool one not yet hooked on pdfs) or send me one of your other products (y'know...I don't have any Races of Evernor or the feats thing yet...)

Cheers
Nell.

Also looking forward to 3.5

Hey, everyone.

Leopold: ok it's 3.0..crap i wish i woulda read that before i bought it....
Sorry the 3.0 fact has got some of you down, but we're going to release 3.5 ASAP (our public demands it). Like others have mentioned, the upgrade will be free.

If the flaws are because the thing isn't 3.5, well we know that. If the flaws are other than that, shame on us. Frilf will have to rule on who gets the email and the lashings, but I doubt posts here will be as useful as a personal note. However, it's not my call.

Psion: Does anyone have a comparison of the various templates with versions that other publishers have done (like with undead templates in BoVD or it Slayer's Guide to the Undead.)?
I can't tell you how the undead compare to the Slayer's Guide to Undead (haven't read it), but I can tell you that the Greater Skeleton and Greater Zombie resemble somewhat the Corpse and Bone creatures in Book of Vile Darkness, though they were created before that book came out (unless I'm mistaken). Compared to Savage Species the other undead templates (wight, mummy, and so on) have a broader utility and consideration for creature types beyond humanoid. The sample wight is a gynosphinx and the sample mohrg is a gargoyle, if that means anything to you. There are also tools for applying this template to NPCs and rules for undead that retain class abilities after their gruesome transformation (a Greater Wight may not be scarier than a lich, but the transformation is cheaper and easier).

The templates were designed with maximum playability in mind and a focus on ease of insertion into the campaign. Even templates from other OGL sources were edited for maximum usability. I welcome your assessment, Psion.

NarlethDrider:*snip* ...yall did an AWESOME job.... /*snip
Thanks for the compliments, problems, and comments. Don't hurt your players too much. Everything helps us build a better product as we make the 3.5 conversion. What other template-based goodies would you like to see? Adventures using templated critters? More stuff aimed at PCs? Anything else?

You must be doing something right when, at least, two customers who were already entitled to a free upgrade went out and bought the product AGAIN because they didn't want to wait.

It's 260 pages for $8. I was pretty certain it would be worth it. After skimming it last night, I'd give it a 10 out of 10; 5 stars; and thumbs up. I'm going to get more use out of this than just about any other d20 product.

I'd also leave the price at $10.

Cheers
Nell.

Who has to stat up that relentless immortal elemental earth advanced troll sometime soon.

To those who enjoy the book, review it. Heck, even if you don't like it, review it. Reviews help your fellow gamers and the companies themselves understand what you like, find useful and just thought needed tweaking.

why was the ferrovore removed? I loved that template!
The ferrovore is still in the book--under the name Metallivore. We re-engineered the beastie to be flexible as to which metals it can "eat". Since "ferro" referes to iron, we agreed a new name was in order. In the template you'll find the base metallivore (which can destroy and eat any metal that naturally corrodes--some metals are resistant to the creature's abilities), ideas for variants on the theme (like a true ferrovore or a nightmarish beast that can dissolve all minerals), and a disease that causes the metallivore condition. Have fun!
