Eanos, human monk

The dwarf speaks in sombre, passionless tones, making it difficult for Eanos to get a reading on his attitude.

"I know of nyo such group as you describe. Weuh they headed to Pedestal?"

((OOC: I think the description would just make Eanos likely to keep a little distance as he spoke, but otherwise, since he's in an armed party, he doesn't necessarily think someone with weapons is explicitly threatening if they aren't attacking.))

Eanos looks to the others and raises an eyebrow in question, but then shrugs.

"We were told the route we took would put us near an island, and they'd be found there. Is Pedestal an island?"

The dwarf stares at Eanos after this last question. "You nyot know Pedestal? Must lost..." He pauses before continuing. "Pedestal on island, yes. Big city in Ga-reat Ga-rotto. You want know moh?"

[sblock=everyone: Listen DC 29]There is a quiet rustling sound coming from -- well, to the best you can tell, when Pendrake is standing.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Despite his healthy bonus, Eanos doesn't hear(1d20+15=20) whatever it is.[/sblock]

Eanos nods, smiling. "Sounds like our destination, then. Which direction, and do you know where we might hire a boat?"

(Semabin has absolutely no chance to make that check. :p )

Semabin glances at the dwarf's armor with a mixture of pity and jealousy - on the one hand, he wouldn't want to wear such a heavy armor, even if made of mithral, but on the other hand, he remembers how much his own mithral chain shirt costed in terms of both coin and sweat, and now they ran into someone wearing a similar - presumably even more expensive - armor, entirely by chance. Semabin suddenly felt that his sheathing his scimitar was a good idea for reasons other than not appearing threatening.

"That sounds good. I guess we can hire a boat there as well, then." he nods as the conversation continues around him.

You go on your way, the dwarf goes on his. After about a mile walking along the underground river you find a large sea (still underground). Not far from you is the beginning of a bridge, too long for you to see where it leads.

Eanos points to the bridge.

"Perhaps we won't need a boat," he says. "If nothing else, if that doesn't lead to the island, it seems likely to lead to something port-like, which means boats."

Assuming his companions don't object, Eanos starts across.

Pendrake follows, his sword out at this time. It seems he is none too pleased with crossing a bridge with no apperent end.

Semabin looks at Pendrake drawing his weapon. "Do you think that's necessary? I'd think the dwarf would have warned us if there was any danger." he asks as he follows.
