Correct: Eanos fails to penetrate the creature's scales. But f3 is even less successful, lunging to bite the monk but remarkably missing the mark (attack: 5).

f1, meanwhile, dives back into the water and surfaces in the gap where Pendrake was. Eanos and Semabin can each take an AoO as it climbs back onto the stone bridge.

Meanwhile, f4 swims under Pendrake and begins to grapple. Pendrake gets an AoO on f4.
Monster's touch attack: 12 [just barely connects]
Monster's strength check: 5
Pendrake's strength check: 18
Pendrake breaks the grapple.

Then f5 tries to bring his staff down again, but the fighter's training and attention to his assailant help him to dodge the blow. (Attack: 16. Dodge feat makes all the difference.) The same fishman tries to bite him but is not coordinated enough. (Bite attack: 8.)

Code:
                    f4 (underneath)
water f5 P f8 water
bridge --- f2 f3 E f1 S f6 f7 --- bridge

Please post AoO's, then continue to Round 3.

Eanos, human monk

Seeing the creature moving to flank them, Eanos lashes out at it, but fails to connect. He attempts to refocus his attention, however, and manages to land one solid blow.

[sblock=OOC]I forgot to add the flanking bonus when I rolled, but I don't think it actually effects the outcome. i.e. invisible castle is not especially keen on Eanos making a good showing. ;)

Attack of Opportunity (+Blow of Steel) vs. f1 (1d20+6=13, 1d8+2=4, 1d6=4)

Flurry vs. f1, round 3 (1d20+5=21, 1d8+2=10, 1d20+5=11, 1d8+2=5)[/sblock]

Pendrake is not happy with his choice of actions, but what has come to pass is come. the grappleing fish devel who wants to be the source of pendrake's ire shall get his loving attention!

Attack of oppertunity:

1d20+9=15, 1d8+5=6

Eanos and Semabin can each take an AoO as it climbs back onto the stone bridge.

Semabin takes a quick swing at the creature as it climbs back up, but in his attempt to put more strength into the attack messes up his aim. Determined to have the creature removed from their midst, he attacks f1 again.

[sblock=rolls]Attack of Opportunity (1d20+8=9, 1d6+1=5); Forgot flanking bonus here as well, not that it matters. Dodge remains on f6.
Flanking attack (1d20+10=15, 1d6+1=6)
[/sblock]

All attacks of opportunity fail.

Round 3

Semabin (21) turns around to attack the one that just climbed up behind him, but the creature's thick fish scales protect it against any injury.

f8 (18) attempts to bite Pendrake, but finds his target too well armoured to sink its teeth into. (Attack: 11)

Pendrake (16) -- ??

Eanos (16) does manage what Semabin tried. Now f1, the fishman between him and Semabin, is bleeding but still alive.

f3 (16)
f6 (15)
f2 (12)
f1 (12)
f4 (11)
f5 (4)
f7 (4)

Pendrake will attempt to attack fish devil F5.

1d20+9=14, 1d8+5=9

The watery environ seems to be hindering the young human who is more acclimated to fight on land.

OOC: He is still under water, righ? if so, move to swim to surface

Pendrake is at the surface -- trying to hold on to the stone bridge with one hand. His body is mostly submerged, but he's breathing in the air. He couldn't hoist himself back onto the bridge unless he dislodges someone there. The only way I can think he could do that would be by bullrushing the fishman who took his previous space -- and that would require a standard action.

Pendrake's attack again comes up against the creatures' tough scaly skin.

f3 fails to bite Eanos (attack: 14 including flanking bonus).
f6 and f1 manage no better against Semabin (attack: 9 and 15 including flanking).
f4 swims to the surface to bite Pendrake. He is more successful with his teeth than with the grapple: attack 23, critical confirmed 21, damage 5HP.
f5 attacks again with the staff: attack 22, damage 4 HP.
Pendrake is now feeling quite battered, but can still fight on (22/40 HP).

Top of the order...

Semabin continues his assault against f1, sensing that its presence causes a bad tactical situation.

(OOC - I couldn't access Invisible Castle at the time of this post, and I might or might not be put out of commission by an injury, so if I don't make a post to the contrary within 24 hours, npc Semabin as needed.)

Pendrake will continue to fight off "fishdevil" F5. IC is still down, but I can check later to use it otherwise: attack +9; damage: 1d8+5
