moving to bridge: would that be a full round action, or just a move with penalties and AOO?
either way, he will do it. If he gets a standard action he will fight defensively for this round with the readied action of attacking any fishdeamon that he can get to on the bridge ... te hell with what is in the water!
Let's see... it's basically a climbing action, and you can climb at a quarter of your regular speed. So climbing one space as a move action is fine for Pendrake. If you don't mind I'll go ahead and roll it: 21, on a DC 7 climb -- no difficulty.
Once on the bridge, Pendrake is sandwiched between his allies. The fishcritters are separated from him on either side, so he could only attack them if he drew his bow.
All the enemies in the water try to attack him, but only the one with the staff succeeds (attack roll: 21). Pendrake takes a further 4 HP damage.
As Eanos stands up, his dance partner (f3) bites him (attack: 20) for 4 HP damage.
f3 (16) bites Eanos again (attack: 20) for 1 HP damage.
f6 (15) bites Semabin (attack: 17) for 4 HP damage.
f2 (12) and f4 (11) swim under the bridge to flank you all. They then attempt to bite Eanos (attack: 10) and Pendrake (attack: 14) respectively. I can't find rules for attacking onto higher ground, so I'm arbitrarily saying that there's a -5 penalty. With 5' reach it should be possible but there is an obvious inherent disadvantage.
f5 (4) swings his quarterstaff at Eanos, but has difficulty reaching up at him. (Attack: 9)
f7 (4) swims toward Pendrake and bites him (Attack: 16) but the combination of the bridge's slight elevation and the fighter's defensive stance spare him the damage.
Top of the order again. I dont' recall ever seeing a PbP combat going this fast.
