Sinister Spire (Group 2)(Orsal Judging)

moving to bridge: would that be a full round action, or just a move with penalties and AOO?

either way, he will do it. If he gets a standard action he will fight defensively for this round with the readied action of attacking any fishdeamon that he can get to on the bridge ... te hell with what is in the water!

Let's see... it's basically a climbing action, and you can climb at a quarter of your regular speed. So climbing one space as a move action is fine for Pendrake. If you don't mind I'll go ahead and roll it: 21, on a DC 7 climb -- no difficulty.

Once on the bridge, Pendrake is sandwiched between his allies. The fishcritters are separated from him on either side, so he could only attack them if he drew his bow.

All the enemies in the water try to attack him, but only the one with the staff succeeds (attack roll: 21). Pendrake takes a further 4 HP damage.

As Eanos stands up, his dance partner (f3) bites him (attack: 20) for 4 HP damage.

f3 (16) bites Eanos again (attack: 20) for 1 HP damage.

f6 (15) bites Semabin (attack: 17) for 4 HP damage.

f2 (12) and f4 (11) swim under the bridge to flank you all. They then attempt to bite Eanos (attack: 10) and Pendrake (attack: 14) respectively. I can't find rules for attacking onto higher ground, so I'm arbitrarily saying that there's a -5 penalty. With 5' reach it should be possible but there is an obvious inherent disadvantage.

f5 (4) swings his quarterstaff at Eanos, but has difficulty reaching up at him. (Attack: 9)

f7 (4) swims toward Pendrake and bites him (Attack: 16) but the combination of the bridge's slight elevation and the fighter's defensive stance spare him the damage.

Top of the order again. I dont' recall ever seeing a PbP combat going this fast.
Code:
water f5 f7 f8 water
bridge --- f3 E P S f6 --- bridge
              f2 f4

OOC: pretty awsome , huh!?

Pendrake sheaths his longsword (standard action?)

and pulls out his long bow and nocks an arrow (move action)

and will be dodging agains F7.

(i do realize he will be drawing several AOOs from the fishmen fr firing a missle weapon while threatened)

Round 6

Semabin (21) takes a successful, but still not fatal, swipe at f6. My apologies for forgetting the Dodge bonus. I've corrected that. Semabin is uninjured.

Pendrake (16) puts trades his sword for bow and arrow. That's two move actions, completing his turn.

Eanos (16) scores too solid hits on f3 for a total 12 HP damage. The fishman is now flailing in extreme pain, but still functioning.

f3 (16) and f6 (15) try to grapple Eanos and Semabin respectively.

f3 vs. Eanos
Eanos' attack of opportunity...?
assuming the AoO is not fatal
Fishman's touch attack: 15. The monk's wisdom makes him surprisingly difficult to grab, and the attack fails.

f6 vs. Semabin
Semabin's attack of opportunity...?
assuming the AoO is not fatal
Fishman's touch attack: 21. Semabin is grabbed by a wet flipper-like hand.
Opposed grapple checks: fishman 11 vs. Semabin ...?

f8 (delayed action, new initiative 15)
f2 (12)
f4 (11)
f5 (4)
f7 (4)

Both grapple attempts fail, one fishman failing to grab the wily Eanos, the other unable to maintain his hold on the athletic Semabin.

f8 (15) then tries to jump onto the bridge and push Semabin down into the water on the other side. (Bull rush, with -5 penalty to the fishman because of Semabin's higher ground.) Semabin has already used his AoO for this round, but Pendrake may take an AoO if he chooses.
Strength check from f8: natural 1. From Semabin: I don't care whether you roll this out, you can't possibly fail. Semabin holds his ground.

f2 (12) tries something similar against Eanos. Pendrake may take an AoO if he didn't take one against f8. Strength check from f2: 5, including the penalty. From Eanos...? Eanos must beat a 5 or else get wet.

f4 (11) tries to bite Pendrake, but like its would-be bullrushing comrades finds it too hard to attack from below. (Attack: 2)

f5 (4) swings his quarterstaff at Eanos, with barely better grasp than his friends showed. (Attack: 8)

f7 (4) tries to bite Pendrake, but the latter dodges the blow. (Attack: 11)

I need Pendrake's AoO (if he chooses), and Eanos' strength check, then proceed to round 7.

Note: I am holding a long bow. do I get an AOO? I didn't think that a missle weapon gets to be a threating weapon in this case. I will take an AOO if you let me though!
