Six Feet Under (some spoilers)

So is anybody watching the new season?

After last week's season premiere that was more like a season finale, this episode was highly amusing. I especially loved everyone's interactions with George.

I think Arthur is going to be a little more important this season. I'm betting he finds out about the missing ashes, and he's the obvious suspect for sending the pile of crap.

The only thing I'm not too into is Claire's apparent storyline. I'm really hoping that Claire doesn't get into the lesbian thing because that would, in my opinion, be much too predictable and it's an overused storyline anyway. Especially with the way they treat Keith and David... that is, the same as everyone else. It just seems rather stereotypical to have art students be more... not promiscuous, but more sexual. In fact, it's the biggest problem I had with Olivier last season too.

Loving the new season. The second episode doesn't come on for another hour and a half, but it seems like they have a lot of different directions they can go with this season. Is Michelle Trachtenberg in this ep? I heard she's going to be on this season as Keith's client.

Umm, how should they be treated? I'm a little mystified by this comment. Most gay people I know have pretty much the same attitudes, outlooks, and problems as the straight people I know (and also happen to be). I'm kinda refreshed by the fact that they have two gay characters who don't have to wear pink, speak with a lisp, listen to Barbra Streisand, or swill Cosmos. Also, I like that these two character aren't defined by A) being gay, or B) by their relationship. They're just another couple on the show.

That said, I agree with you on the Claire lesbian thing, but only inasmuch as it rips off Willow and Tara ;).

Six Feet Under is a great show, but watching it with your wife who just happens to have a degree in Mortuary Science makes it even more interesting. She loves the show & is actually impressed with the technical details...she just misses the "commercials" from the first season. :)

Ugh, sorry that was unclear. That's my point exactly you just made though. Keith and David aren't "gay characters", they're characters who just happen to be gay. On the other hand, it seems (and has seemed all along on this show) that the art students have to be pretty messed up psychologically (as opposed to the normal level of messed up people are) and/or have to be hyper-sexual. On a show whose biggest strength is the fact that they don't characterize via stereotype, it bothers me that they do this here. That's what I was getting at.

Side question... what game was Arthur playing last week? Anyone recognize?

Saw the newest eppy...

Claire is just really ticking me off now, I don't know why. It doesn't help that the whole druggie-art party thing repulses me to no end. Admittedly, it's for a number of personal reasons, but Claire is really coming off as nothing but self-absorbed... well, to me anyway.

REALLY want to smack some sense into Rico. Unfortunately my father is/was going through something like this too... though more drugs were involved. Needless to say it struck a nerve. It's so obvious the woman (forgot her name) is using him for his money. Rico's dream sequence was the best part of the episode. Also, there was a bit there that I can't remember, that seemed like foreshadowing that she calls his wife.

What is it with showing Nate having sex? And who'll take bets on if Claire's friend will hit on him? Other than that, not much to say on Nate's part, except in his reaction to the end of the fling he had.

David and Keith are awesome. All I have to say. Also, poor Brenda. :( It almost seems to me like they're setting her and Nate to end up together again.

Finally, the feces box and the feces gift basket. Who here really thinks Arthur sent the poo? Yeah, I didn't think so. Something is definitely going on with George, what with implanting the idea that one of Ruth's ex's sent the poo. I'm gonna miss Arthur... especially the Sim on his computer going to the bathroom right after Ruth leaves.
