Slaves of the Dragon (orsal judging)

Jack Haggerty, Halfling Rog 1/Ftr 1, 12/12 hp, AC 19; Rover, 13/13 hp, AC 15

As the kobold approaches Jack and Rover, Jack tells his dog, "Sic 'em." Deftly dodging the kobold's thrust, Jack virtually dances around his opponent, drawing his sword as he does so. Catching the kobold, he slips his blade through a chink in the kobold's armor...

Rover lunges forward with a fierce growl, but cannot manage to catch hold.

Jack:
Tumble check = 17 (move to I4 to flank with Rover)
Flanking Rapier attack vs. #3 = 21
Rapier damage = 3
Sneak Attack damage = 1

Rover:
Flanking Bite attack vs. #3 = 11 (I assume that doesn't hit.)

Opale moves will change sligthly. I'll target 5, as it is the clearer shot, and Opale will move 5 feet east. Also, if she can do it as a free action, she will try to identify what 7 is doing (she suppose he is casting, but which spell.)

If the kobald is still in the middle of casting on katherine's initative, she will shoot at it with her shortbow (and probably hit d20+0 = 19 for 1d6=4 damage)

if not, her actions will depend on how things are going at that point....

Veras-Re closes into melee with a few short strides. He then smites the Kobold (#4) with a powerful two-handed grip on his club.

Club +3 1d6+4

Attack and Damage (1d20+3=15, 1d6+4=8)

OOG: Not that it actually matters, but Veras-Re's initiative should technically drop to a place right before the Kobold's action, since he did a readied action.

Rika takes a 5-foot step backwards to N-8 and fires her shortbow at the kobold who appears to be casting. She then drops the bow and draws her rapier.

OOC: Shortbow +5 to hit, 1d6 damage.

(One thing's for sure - it'll be a long time until I consider DMing two games at the same time again)

I'm planning on handing out XP after this battle. Here's my calculations, and a link to an online calculator:
http://nazaire.home.insightbb.com/calculator.htm

8 CR 1/4 creatures:
67 XP everyone for battle 1

12 CR 1/4 creatures, 1 CR 2 creature, 1 CR 3 creature:
267 XP everyone for battle 2

200 XP everyone RPing/Problem solving/Compensation for my spotty updates recently

500 XP everyone time XP

That's a total of 1034 XP for everyone, which should allow everyone to gain a level. They'll need it. :D [/sblock])

Initiative:
Quarion - 22
Garma - 20
Farid –19
Jack – 12
Thanyvan – 12
Opale - 12
Rika - 11
Planus – 6
Katherine - 6
Veras-Re – 6-Adjusted
Kobold, 2 and 7 – 6
Kobolds, most – 2
Kobold, 14 – 1

Quarion shoots at 7, easily hitting the spellcaster, and breaking his concentration despite the minor wound. Garma, apparently aggravated by the wound, fails to hit the kobold. Farid's Urgosh, on the other hand, handily drops his opponent.
Jack circles around kobold 3, piercing him well for 4 damage, but Rover fails to penetrate the kobolds' scaly hide.
Thanyvan, finally, casts an entanglement spell to catch as many kobolds as possible - he gets three, including the caster.
Opale recognizes that a summon monster spell has been prevented. Her bolt hits 5, who seems to be not quite as entangled as the others.
Rika steps back a bit and shoots at 7, but misses (attack roll 9). Planus suffers the same mishap.
Veras-Re enters into melee, and he is satisfied to hear the crunching sound his club makes as he hit's the lizard's skull. It promptly drops.

Kobold 2 lashes out at Veras-Re, and her sword slices the dwarf (2 damage). However, thanks to his psionic might, he remains (technically) unhurt.
7, the spellcaster, creeps through the tangle, and manages to leave it, as does 1. 5, on the other hand, seems to try to creep deeper into the tangle.
3 pierce and 6 attempt to pierce Jack, but the halfling proves too nimble for their attacks, even though they are well-placed.
9 takes a step towards Rika, stabbing at the elf, but her chain shirt prevents any wounds.
11 and 12 both close in on Farid, but their attacks are too clumsy to hit the dwarf.
13 continues her struggle with Garma, without any success.
14, meanwhile, gestures, and his wounds all close. Then, he closes in.

Smiling wickedly at his successful shot, Quarion moves (N3) to get a better shot at the spell caster. His arrow flies straight and true, landing in the hapless kobold again. Quarion's smile widens. Garma continues snarling and biting at his opponent, but apparently that wound bothers him more than he shows, because his bites and slashes are slow enough for the kobold to easily dodge.

Quarion: Shortbow atk. roll and damage (1d20+3=21, 1d6=4)
