Smallville 2/16 krypto

First Post
okay, as far as animal oriented shows go, it wasn't bad. Usually shows that focus so much on a dog even for an episode I find really bad. But the secondary plot advancement was much better.

My only question is was Krypto actually from the comic? It seems silly enough to have been but I never followed superman comics.

Yep. Very silly.

Krypto originally turned up, IIRC, in the Superboy comics of the 60s. He showed up again in the Pre-Crisis Superman comics (again, IIRC). He has recently turned up in the Post-Crisis Superman comics, too, though I don't recall how it was explained. I know he's supposed to be from Krypton as well. He currently lives with the Kents on their farm in Kansas, and has turned up in Teen Titans with Superboy once. Also, Batman doesn't really like him. :)

I'm with Batman on this one.....

Ditto.

Actually, the episode wasn't bad. I just hope Krypto/Shelby isn't a major factor in future episodes.

My actually belief about the episode is that they wanted to bring a lot of the sub-plots to a head, but none of that involved Clark (or Lois). So, they threw in Krypto half as homage to the comics and half as something for Clark to do. As filler for other stuff, I've got to say Krypto was pretty good.

Yeah I believe that krypto looked like a dalmation, but wasn't he from krypton?

I didn't think it was a bad episode, I am starting to dig into all the intrigue between Jason, Lex, Lana, Lionel, and Mrs. Tieg.

Next weeks episode looks good as Lana goes Elektra.

The Seraph of Earth and Stone

Not bad, but not stellar either. I am still waiting for Lex to pull some evil mojo. He is starting to become his father.

One thing that I noticed with this episode is how Clark and Lex hate each other. There is no real friendship there now. They are both going through the motions.

I personally liked the hint that the Kryptonian Krypto could still appear in the Smallville canon.

Lois: "You can name your next dog Krypto."

I'm still among those who agree with Batman, though. :)

I noticed that, too. Very nice. I think Lex has gone through more character development than anyone else over the course of the series. One great thing about the rift between Clark and Lex is that both betrayed the other, so there isn't really a single fault. You can still like Lex, and, while it's becoming obvious that he isn't a very nice person, you can also see why he does what he does.

Krypto has always been portaryed as a medium-sized short-haired white dog with a Superman cape. I mean, what's silly about a dog wearing a red and yellow cape with a big red "S" on it.
