Smallville 2/2/05 (Spoilers)

Okay. I am not really sure what the point of Lois being there was, except for like someone else said in another thread to have information relayed between characters.

Another thing that is bothering me is, Why didn't Alicia teleport away when she realized that he was the one framing her? Or even after he started to attack her? You would think someone who can teleport would definitely use that power in a life or death situation. Along with others here I don't like them killing her off. I think she was perfect on screen with Clark. They had great chemistry and it could have been a wonderful relationship. Although I did like the scence where Clark was just angry with him. Tom Welling really sold me on the "You killed my girlfriend, now I am going to kill you" look. I think he really needs a few more of those situations so that he can really realize what kind of power he has. Also it will be interesting to see how Chloe handles knowing Clark's secret, but not telling him that she knows.

Alicia dieing: Bad. Ya, she should have gotten away or something, she has shown that she can teleport faster and clark couldn't even grab her.

I think they waiting to long for the I know your secret but I'm not telling you plot. It is a stable in shows that have secrets. Still, I figured it was going to be Chloe that learned Clarks secret...again. Hopefully this time she won't plot conveintly forget it.

First, I hated the Alicia-Clark relationship (despite admittedly good chemistry between the actors), for reasons that are moot now, I guess. That said, I hate that they killed her off, too. Like the first two said, she should have just teleported away. They could have easily closed that loophole by having her agree to wear the bracelet after arguing with Cark about it - Then, while Tim chloroforms her, she struggles, and fails to get the bracelet off. Tragically, Clark would have been even more responsible for her death, and there would be no logic gap. But, they didn't, and it's a huge logic flaw in the episode.

I don't think Chloe will forget - I think they'll just kill her off, for real this time.

I agree that angry Clark was good to see and pretty well done.

thinking it over, Alicia had to die. I don't like that they did it, but I understand why. She would have completely exposed Clark's secret to everyone. She started by showing Chloe, but as we see Chloe decides to keep the secret Alicia would have either started showing others or pestering Chloe to write about what she knows.

I don't think Chloe is going to get killed off. I think this could be great for her relationship with Clark and giving that character purpose.

Like I said in the other thread, this show is trying to stay away from building significant storyline's and it's a shame. the Alisha-Clark thing was good. His parents disliked it, his friends disliked it, but they gelled. They could have worked this for all it was worth. Slowly but surely everyone could have come to see what Clark was seeing, made her even into a big charater, then, later on, kill her off (or something else) and make it more tragiic for all. Absolutely stinks that they panned good ideas to make a villian of the week more diabloical. Worst part about it is no one rally cares how "bad" the bad guy was this time. My opinion, Clark should have kept heat visioning him after he got him to solidify. Bad ep all around after last week's really good ep. Lost is starting to look like my choice in the Wednesday night war between the two for my viewing.

I actually think that the reason she chose Chloe was kinda two fold. She chose her cause she was a close friend of Clark's whom she had not personally hurt. I think she also chose her cause she wanted someone else who had affection for Clark to understand her situation. It also didn't hurt that she knew Chloe was a reporter and it would make it hard for Chloe to make a choice between friend/ loved one and a story. I think she understood that Chloe would not talk despite her ever-going hunt for the "truth".

It was a great episode, but I do agree that she should have teleported away. Simple loophole that will haunt this episode.

But, it did allow them to really bring out Clark's anger and his guilt. I was hoping Alicia would have been in the show longer. She was a cool character.

Was it just me, or did the combination of music, acting, and dialog make that one of the lamest death scenes ever?! Soooooo disappointing!

As I said in the other thread, I thought that this was a really, really good episode, but I'm disappointed by the decision to kill Alicia. Everything about Alicia was good, her chemistry with Clark, the friction she was causing between Clark and his family and friends, and the actress playing her was awesome. I can understand why she was killed off though. As stated before, the next logical step was for Alicia to start outing Clark to everyone left and right and TPTB wouldn't have let that happen.

Besides that, I thought everything about the episode was great (well, maybe not the villain). Alicia's death itself was shocking, a real gasp-inducing moment when you see her hanging there. Everyone got great character moments and all the ongoing plots were advanced in one way or another. You got great performances out of Tom Welling, Allison Mack, and Erica Durance. Lois showed another side besides the smartass one, not that I don't like the smartass side of Lois.

Just an all around great episode, in my opinion.
