Smallville 2-25-03-cooooooooool

Brainiac was once an alian telepath that became a machine to aquire god-like power.

The Eradicator was a software/hardware device that had all of Kryptonian scientific knowledge, history, culture, etc. and was - at one point - supposed to make the Earth into a "New Kyrptonia" type of place.

At a guest, this linguist is less likely to be "Smallville" series version of Brainiac than a "Smallville" series version of the Eradicator. That is if they bring him back. And I did not see the episode, I am just guessing from what I have read here.

A figure eight is also an oroboros, or an infinity symbol.

Now you will have to excuse me, I want to finish my studies of day-glow purple kryptonite. Preliminary results indicate it makes Clark dress like a pimp extra from Strasky and Hutch...

Actually the original Brainiac was a circus hypnotist that was taken over by an alien entity. This entity happened to be the ancestor of Brainiac 5 of the Legion of Superheroes. So it is entirely possible that the Dr. is this unvirses version of Brainiac. Of course anything is possible, with this series. The original professor Hamilton help superman explore his powers, not try to steal the power of krytonite and attempt to kill Ross. So who knows.

Wow wow wow wow wow

Absolutely the best episode in the series so far. I was completely blown away (and agree that the music was an awesome touch).

I also suspect that the Superman "S"-shaped symbol is either "Kal-El" or the "El" family crest. That certainly helps explain why Superman would wear it. Alternately it might be Kryptonian for "Justice" or "Freedom" or something similar.

Actually, it's Kryptonian for Kiwi, which was Jor-El's favorite Earth fruit (in a pictograph language with no alphabet it must be dang hard to have words for everything in the universe).

Clark just ends up using it because his mom always said he was so 'super,' and she decided the symbol looked like an S. Silly Ma Kent.

I agree with you guys this was one fantastic episode.

That being said....
The symbol with the 8 in it ...ment father that is clearly shown on the paper that clark was writing about his family crest. Whether it was his father's name or his family name is unclear. I think it is probably Jor-El where the common diamond shaped symbol being the EL part of the name and the 8 is either father or Jor. Yes I know that 8 normally is the symbol for infinity but I don't think it was ment as that for this bit of symbolism in the series.

The Professor will not become Brainiac ....I would bet he will become the Eradicator though.

Chris Reeves did a fantastic job. His character was awesome.

I like the fact that they made the messages what they made them, it shows they want us to think. We will have to wait and see what the future brings.

Remember Clark burned the symbol for Hope into the side of the barn. I like the message Pa Kent gave to Clark.
Hmmm Clark is going to have a little brother? I don't remember that from the comics does anyone else? I like it though, very interesting series.

Can't wait to watch it Sunday again woooohooooo.......
Darius

P.S. did the new Lone Ranger series commercial bug anyone else?

P.S.S. Hey fast learner it could mean Justice if you look at it from the movie perspective or it could mean Scientist (s in the diamond) as we know Jor-El was a scientist. I am pretty sure though that the diamond is the EL part of their name.

Whoa! Did I just jump onto this series at the right time or what?!?!?!?

I watched last week for the first time, just because I'd heard some good stuff about it. Now I see last nights episode, and I'm officially hooked!

Um how old is Clark anyway (human years) ... I always assumed he was 17-18.

I think he's supposed to be in the 15-17 range. I believe that he was a freshman when the series started and he's now in his sophomore year. That would make him 2 or 3 years old when he landed.

Wrong night to miss. This was an excellent episode on every front. Clark does become ruler of earth, just not in the way he currently thinks. We already know he is misinterpeting the message. It will be great to see how he deals with it.

I also enjoy the ever widening gap in he and Lex's friendship. As Lex digs deeper into the mysteries of Clark Kent, Clark distances himself more and more. It has been many episodes since they truely shared a "good friend" moment.
