let me just be the first to say---Wow!

Plot twist-o-rama! Certainly added some spice to the series, don't you think?

What did everyone think of the major plot twist of this particular version of the Superman milieu?

It will be fun to see where they take it. I hope they can do it justice.

How about the music?

When they used the John Williams "Krypton" and "Superman" themes, the hair on my arms stood up.

This was definitely a great episode. Christopher Reeve calling Tom Welling "Kal-el" was also definitely cool.

The mesage that clark's biological father left for him in the spaceship was most interesting. I think his coming to terms with what it said will be a key element in his becoming Superman.

Also, the Lingust who got the information overload, I suspect he will become a future Villian. Perhaps Brainiac?

hoo-ah! agreed ... I got all geeky-choked up inside :)

I think Clark may be taking the msg to seriously (wolf says ignorantly) ... I mean literally, his bio-pa might not have been completely sure of the technical ability of earthers.

and how old are those carvings? ... was there kryptonians visiting earth?

if the planet is no longer there then how long ago did it blow ... b/c light doesn't travel fast enough for it have exploded 15-20 years ago (when clark arrived).

Um how old is Clark anyway (human years) ... I always assumed he was 17-18.

From what I know of the standard continuities, Braniac is always a machine, rather than a human being. Not that this preclude it here, but I think it unlikely.

And, I'm not yet convinced that Pa Kent wasn't right, that Clark misread (or misinterpreted) the message.

What I really want to know is - what's the Kryptonian symbol that looks like Clark's future chest logo mean?

This episode is what make the Superman mythos so strong. Jonathan's speech to Clark almost had me to tears. See Christopher Reeve cemented his place in Superman mythos again. I loved the bits of music they used.

I believe the Kryptonian symbol is the El's family crest. To me, it looked an 8 within the shield but there the S shape seemed bolder than the rest. It might even be his name, which would really be cool.

Yes, it is entirly possible that Clark misunderstood the message. Not that it matters, because now clark thinks that he was sent to earth to conquer it, and he has to deal with that.

As for the Brainiac/Lingust thing, hey I could be wrong. My comic specialty was never Superman Mythos (It was X-men History/Mythos). It was just a feeling. I'm sure however that he will wake up and prove to be a thorn in Clarks side, having "Downloaded" the knowledge of the Kryptonians.

Most likly the ship and Meteors traveled through some kind of Wormhole to reach earth so quickly. which would explain why
Dr. Moss said that he received the message 13 years ago, when clark landeded (I would say) 16 years ago. The message traveled at the speed of light, while clark (and the storm of meteors) to a short-cut.
