Smallville "Suspect" (Spoilers)

I have been rather happy with this seasons shows, Suspect (saw it Sunday) shows Lex's fall to darkeness. I could see where people would see this as a murder mystery but it was more than that. It showed Lex trying to keep from being under his fathers power, it showed that his father is a very very bad man and only he Lex knows just how bad, it was much a show of building Lex's pyche as a mystery. Lex is taking a role of protector from his father.

I liked the episode overall. I was very surprised that the killer was a significant supporting cast member, but it also shows just how manipulative Lionel is. Just when you might be getting to feel some sympathy for the man... bang, he does this

I'm also starting to wonder if something funny isn't going on with Lionel. Just this season alone, he's been stabbed, crushed, blinded, shot, fallen from a great height, all this stuff... and he's doing pretty good. He's got bricks of kryptonite in his safe, so who's to say he hasn't been affected in some way? Hmm.
