So, how stupid do you have to be to be a githyanki?

Anyway... Dungeon ~100 (or the corresponding Dragon) mentioned an NPC healer class the githyanki have, IIRC.

Correct. Dungeon #100 (more specifically, Polyhedron #159) had the Ghustil PrC. This 10-level PrC doesn't have much to recommend it, except that it's very small spell list is almost all healing spells, of up to 6th level. The spells are cast spontaneously. Interestingly, because their spells are powered by Astral energies, their magic is considered neither arcane nor divine.

Githyanki live on the astral plane, where natural healing is impossible, and they have no clerics because the bitch who runs the place won't let them. OK, maybe they can hire some clerics from other races, but can you imagine a whole race of warriors walking around with open sores and oozing cuts? Time to either move or get a new queen.

Probably why they all are always wrapped in bandages:p

They don't age. And, according to 2e and the Incursion story-arc, they have incubators hidden on other planes where they have their broods.

And don't they lay eggs like big, gaunt chickens instead of birthing like mammals?

I'm sure that potions of cure X wounds are one of the primary sources of 'yanki healing. They can obtain those through trade, raiding of temples on the Prime, capturing NPC clerics with Brew Potion feat, etc.

but there are so many levels of stupid :D

Usually 20, plus the StupidMaster prestige class :) Unless somone is Epic-level Stupid, in which case the sky is the limit.

Seriously, I'm imagine the Githyanki have off-plane hospitals. Maybe they also enslave clerics of other races to perform the healing for them, or have some agreement with other evil races.

I dunno. I prefer them dead anyways.

I agree it's silly but I think Bards, Rangers, Druids and Blackguards can probably get the job done. Not that I imagine Druids and Bards are tremendously common either.

Psionic healing?

Ya, I don't think this thread is really fair. There's a whole subdiscipline of the Psychometabolism discipline called Healing. Obviously, there are psionic methods of healing yourself.
