SO I picked up my first 3 packs of Giants of Legend

I ordered 6 boxes from Gameoutfitter and they should be here on Friday. Hopefully I have some dragon goodness.

I bought one box from my FLGS and got the treant (well traded for it) my original package came with a nightstalker and a guy bought a pack and was hoping for the shark thinky and got the treant. He gave me the treant (very kind) and I convinced him to take my Nightstalker.

So far I've bought 12 packs and only have 1 rare huge (the Warforged Titan). Any idea what the uncommon to rare ratio is?

I bought a case and a half. After a few trades and two purchases on Ebay (couple of treants), I came out with...

Overall, I'm very pleased with my pulls and this set in general- distribution was great and I got every fig I wanted. These minis will add an entirely new level to my games. Huge figures rock!!!

A lot better than what you got! I believe it is 3:1 Uncommon:Rare. That means you should have 3 rares out of the 12 you bought. Just bad luck, I guess...

I bought 5 and I'm very happy with what I got:
1 huge red
1 huge gold
1 storm giant
1 bulette
1 cloud giant

1 Lareth
1 Fire Giant
1 Drider
1 Blue Slaad
1 Otyugh

My friends both bought 4 packs and only one of them got two of the same fig. (2 treants actually). In the case we bought, there were 2 treants, 2 cloud giants, and 2 bulettes, no double rares (of either huge or regular minis). Good distribution, I was happy.

Well, I don't mind. I only have the huges in view though, as my regulars are all packed in their respective places. My huges are 2 Nightstalkers, 1 treant, 1 cloud giant, 1 bulette, 2 fiendish tyros, 1 gold dragon, 1 red dragon, 1 glabrezu, 2 formorians.

I've got a king snurre and a lord soth, both of which I think are awesome. I really love having a fire giant and king snurre, as the tag team looks great side by side. The only piece I didn't get (besides the other huges) that I really want are the Githyanki Renegade and the Frost Giant.

Distribution within cases was extremely good. Good enough that I question its randomness. (E.g., I got exactly three of each Common) in my first case. I got either 1 or 2 of each Uncommon. And I got only one duplicate non-Huge Rare.)

If you're buying more than one case, however, beware. The Huge distribution in my second case was exactly the same as that in my first case: Warforged Titan, Behir, Storm Giant, Nightwalker, Formorian, Fiendish Tyrannosaur, two Treants, two Cloud Giants, two Bulettes.

[Edit: I just noticed. Check Creamsteak's listing of his case above. Note that it is exactly complementary to what I got. He got lucky and pulled a "Case A." I pulled two "Case B"s. Sigh.]

This wasn't coincidence ... check the various message-boards, and you'll find hundreds of instances of it. So basically I paid over $300 for two cases, and instead of getting something close to one of each Rare Huge, I got duplicates of the three least-valued Rare Huges.

And it doesn't stop there: I'd made arrangements on maxminis for a trading partner, who was also buying two cases, to help even out the distribution. His two cases were exactly the same as mine, in terme of the Huge models. Four cases, and not a single Huge Red, Huge Gold, or Glabrezu in the lot.

Like I said ... beware.

I bought a case of 12 + 2 boosters and got 5 of the six rare huges (3 in the case and a rare huge in each extra booster box!) I'm now only missing the storm giant.

The Case A and Case B (actually, I think it's A1-A4 and B1-B4) thing does appear exist. I think that it's pretty good for the community in general, at least as far as collections and trades are concerned for those of us buying 1 case or more. It could hurt the single pack purchases though, as you could end up picking up a lot of "similar" packs from a single retailer.

I just bought my first 4 packs of GoL (and my only D&D mini purchase since buying a Starter pack and one booster when they first came out).

I love the huge minis (how's that for an oxymoron)!

I also couldn't be more pleased with my distrobution.

For huges, I got a Warforged Titan, a Gold Dragon, a Treant and a Bulette!

I also got a Mordenkainen and a Drider, so now all I need is a Behir, and I'll be happy...

Not posting dupes, in the only 2 packs I bought I got 2 Fiendish TRexes (bleh, and why I've gone to online buying singles), a bronze wyrmling, Regdar, Xeph Soulknife, Crucian, Dire Rat, Hobgobo Sergeant, Zombie, Drider Sorcerer, Drow Fighter, Ghast, Minotaur Skelee, Orc Brute, Quasit, and Tanarukk.

The Drider, Xeph, Drow, Undead, Orc, Wyrmling, and Quasit are the only ones I like. The TRex did me in though, my luck is terrible, and I don't buy in bulk, I refuse to get another one.
