It also helps that the exhibit hall in Indy is significantly more well-ventilated than it was in Milwaukee. I remember working up a sweat just tooling through the hall in Wisconsin, but am comfortably cool all the time in Indy's.

Me, I'm the opposite end of the spectrum from the stinky gamer. I'm about obsessive for keeping clean. When I have to do yardwork I take a shower before I go out, put on fresh clothes, go do my work, come in, take another shower, and put on a fresh set of clothes. When I wake up in the morning I take a shower. I can't do anything UNTIL I have my shower.

And I thought I was the only one that took a shower before heading out to mow!

If I was going to guess, I'd say many of the stinky gamers don't really have a place to shower everyday, driving up to the con and sleeping in their car or wherever. Perhaps they schedule themselves to play in so many events that they figure they can just catnap here and there between sessions.

That's exactly the reason there were no couches and comfy chairs in the hallways this year. Last two years, people were crashed out on them all day and night. Although I did hear that there were a few people camped out in the anime room again this year, but I avoided it after the experience I got last year just walking past the open doors...

Speaking of the anime room, why in the world was it in a hotel instead of the main conventin this year. My GF was sorely disappointed and didn't spend too much time there this year because it was so far away from our Marriott hotel room.

Bath and Bodyworks should get a booth next year.....

They have bomb sniffing machines people pass through in airports, maybe there should be an "odorometer" machine in the main hall.

I think it has less to do with not taking showers at the con, and more to do with poor skills in washing clothes. Even if some people did take showers daily (and not all do) the clothes that they have been wearing for years still have that stink. Get them in a hot con hotel, and even if they have showered earlier the funk will still come. Some good washing with hot water would clear up alot of problems....
