So, what do you think of Gleemax?

I'm sure they did. It's just they wanted the content to start going up before they got the navigation right. Eep!

At present, I've been travelling to each of the designers profiles and adding them to my favourites. Then, if I click on the "View Favourites Posts" (found on "My Page"), I can see what they've been writing.

Interesting. The first time I clicked it, I got sent to my own Gleemax user page thing. Copying and pasting it into that tab gave me your page. Might be a login-related issue.

Yeah; that's a login issue. Once you're logged in, it should work.

Cheers!

I tried doing that, then hit a cap on Favorites. Maybe they've fixed that? And Solice had a post linking to all the staff blogs, and I think she's an auto-favorite for everyone.

I understand the concept, ya know, a place for gamers to find gamers and put more gamers into the mainstream, etc. But C'mon!! How the heck are gamers supposed to get into the mainstream when it's called 'Gleemax'?! I mean, if that doesn't say nerd I don't know what does. Hypothetical example one:

Bob: Do ya want to play D&D?
Sue: I don't know, isn't for nerds?
Maria: Do you think Vin Diesel is a nerd?
Sue: No, he's hot!
Maria: Cuz he played it.
Jamal: Speaking of a hottie, that chick on Andomeda, Alexa Doig plays it too!
Sue: Sweet! I'm game, thing is, I don't have much time on my hands. Is there a website I can go to?
Bob: sure.
Sue: What's it called?
Jamal: Gleemax.
Sue: You're kidding, right? 'Glee--Max". As in, take your Glee, er happiness, to the max?
Bob: Haven't really thought of it like that, but yeah, I guess...
Sue: Mine as well call it Degenerates are us! Call me when they come up with a better, less Immature and Nerd Grabbing name, k?
The rest: crap... we out of a 4th player...

I don't like the organization as much as the old forums. I haven't really figured out how subscribing to the blogs is supposed to work yet, but the increased searchability is nice.

I'm giving it time.

As an avid 4e follower I am totally P*#%ed off about this Gleemax and what is worse I cannot let the Wizards know.

I get nothing but a blank white screen when trying to access the Green Goblin, the staff blogs and old threads I was following.

This is most frustrating...especially so as it appears the Wizards opperators have not posted somewhere, LIKE HERE, to explain things. Makes no sense to us that cannot access the bloody green thing if they post it on there!

So NO, I DO NOT like Gleemax. YES I do agree it is a crap name, but I cannot comment much on the layout, etc, b/c I don;t get in anymore! I changed password, I am supposedly logged in but I get no further than opening page - cannot access blogs, threads etc.

Final note: I have been a great supported of 4E. I am not here to add to my Wizards bashing b/c I am actually angry b/c I was loving what I read and now cannot access anything.

Thank god for the ENWORLD 4E NEWS Site....I at least get the main 4E bits.

Fix Gloomax or return to the old very easy to follow and access boards....end rant :(

The potential for Gleemax is very high, but at the moment my opinion is " 'meh". Right now its WotC-centric which is understandable for a new service. That needs to be changed within the next few months or else (IMHO) its perception as a WotC only site and not a "home for gamers" may be set.

But if Gleemax is indeed a success it will come at a cost. Not a monetary cost, but a diversity cost as it will be THE main competitor of many of the sites that we use in our daily surfing. But its really too early to tell as many of the features are still in the development stage. I'm also interested to see how WotC handles some of the trickier and darker side of blogs, myspace, and the inevitable D&D haters that will be setting up shop on Gleemax.

On the purely negative side, I still dislike the name, logo and the current alpha interface is quite clunky, but I expect the interface to at least will improve over time.

Given half a chance I would overturn Gleemax's jar of fluids, and kick his wrinkly behind into the dirtiest corner of a warehouse, where crappy interface, lame graphics, and re-regstering belong.
