So! Who's going to buy Gamma World D20?

I've put in my order & am hoping that Gamma World D20 will expunge the unclean memories of Gamma World 5th Edition. *shudder*

I have every edition since the beginning.
Although I sold my copy of the Alternity version. That one was just Baad! IMHO.
They changed waay to much of what I considered to be Core Gamma World. PSH are aliens?!, no Mutant Animals?! What the heck??
From what I've read on the Web, Bruce sounds like he is keeping the new edition in touch with it's roots.

I'm getting it and I'm pretty much in total agreement with Gallo22, as that is how my Omega World games have run thus far.

I'm totally psyched for Gamma World

When I first read about it months ago I was totally jazzed to play. Then lots of time passed and, not hearing any follow-up buzz, it dropped off my radar. I saw a thread on the forums here recently which caused my post-apocalypse gears to start turning again and the rust was quickly worn away.

I've even been sifting the forums over at www.rpg.net to catch more clues as to what to expect and when to expect it. Mid October can't come soon enough!

I'm looking forward to seeing what my players make of the Bay Area 120 years after The Fall. :-)

Omega World pretty much supplies all the mutant, after the bomb action that I require. I read somewhere how to survive running an extended campaign of GW without growing tired of it - drop the 'players pretending not to know what mundane artifacts are' schtick. Spending two hours having the players pretend they don't know what a pop machine is, for example.

One thing that has always confused me about GW is the art. The tech level of the world when the apocalypse occurred was in OUR future, yet the art typically shows 20th century junk/artifacts. It's much easier for players to role play exploration of futuristic locales/artifacts since the players haven't used them in real life.

As a side note, Fantasy Flight Games just put out an Gamma World type supplement, Redline for about $15. ... Gama World/Mad Max fans rejoice. The cover is cool

Cool Redline cover

Even came with rules for mutants and vehicle that involved turrets :D Uh, that came out wrong, I meant the cars have turrets, not the mutants. LOL!

I picked that one up the other day. Well worth the money for anyone who is a PA Gamer. Especially if you have a particular fondness for The Road Warrior.
I wish FFG (or someone) would do a Web Enhancement for it converting the classes and such to d20 Modern, I'd do it but I don't have the time.
Later,
Brutorz Bill

Not wanting to give too much away, but...

There are pop machines in the "Mutants and Machines" manual.

You won't know what they are.
