$50 make these really collectibles and not generally toys for kids.
I am not sure how many kids are really playing with toys nowadays. Obviously, some are, but the second they get access to electronics, a lot of their enthusiasm goes there, from what I've seen. I suspect the toy industry is, in part, adapting to less demand from kids as well in addition to the demand from adult collectors.
