"So, you're using Bonetti's Defense against me, eh?"

Given that some sort of Bo9S-style combat maneuver system will be in 4E, what are the odds that we'll see an interaction of manuvers so two expert swordsmen could fight a duel where switching between maneuvers or styles provides effective attack/defense against the others.

I'd really love to be able to create the sort of swashbuckling duel as shown in the Princess Bride. Bo9S doesn't really get there. I do have a 3rd party d20 supplement that was much better, but I forget the name and can't find the pdf.

Only if the rules can provide the witty repartee. :D

"I am not left-handed."

Benefit: When attacking with an off-hand weapon, this feat enables the possessor to make a bluff check as a free action against hsi opponent's sense motive check. If successful, off-hand attacks during the round suffer no penalty for fighting with two weapons.

Normal: You suffer increasing penalties with off-hand atatcks while fighting with two weapons.

"I am not left-handed either."

Benefit: The possessor of this feat gains a +10 bonus on Sense Motive checks when attacked by an opponent using the "I am not left-handed feat."

"I thought it fitting considering the rocky terrain"

A +2 AC bonus when fighting on difficult ground for Bonetti's Defense

But they don't fight with two weapons do they? or are you saying offhand as using the left hand instead of the right? 3.0/5 is so confusing in such matters.

also to nitpick. its

"Im also not left handed"

Also, Isn't it the point that they are in fact better with their sword hand then their offhand, but they are SO good, that they can still keep up using thier offhand?

Ooh! If you find it, please let me know what it is.

Inigo Montoya: You are using Bonetti's Defense against me, ah?
Man in Black: I thought it fitting considering the rocky terrain.
Inigo Montoya: Naturally, you must suspect me to attack with Capa Ferro?
Man in Black: Naturally... but I find that Thibault cancels out Capa Ferro. Don't you?
Inigo Montoya: Unless the enemy has studied his Agrippa... which I have.

N.B. These are actual fencing terms/references to medieval texts on fencing. No, I don't have the texts; I know people who are really into medieval fencing.

I think it's actually Capo Ferro....

Interestingly, this very same quote is included in GURPS Martial Arts for 4th edition.... :)
