Some information about the Duskblade?

I heared some pretty scary things about the Duskblade, especially about the damage potential he has at lvl 5 but I know nothing specific.

Can someone elaborat on that? I would like some more information before I decide if I should whip out my power-creep hammer or not.

I really wonder if there has been enough time for actual play, or if it is just speculation based on a read through.

You can channel any touch spell you know into a melee attack, assuming it has a casting time of 1 standard action or less. None of the available touch spells are in the "scary" range of damage potential.
