So, talking about BlueSky, is it actually worth creating an account and checking it out? Or is it just another social media algorithm that going to flood me with stupid posts from thoughtless trolls who fill the need to share their every thought?

It's worth a look. Some trolls have recently come over from Twitter in an attempt to stink up the place, but Bluesky has a trust and safety team (Twitter does not have one anymore and hasn't for quite awhile) and is much more on top of banning bots and other problematic accounts.

So far I only ever see posts from people I actually follow in my timeline by default, which was a huge problem I had with Twitter even before it was sold. I haven’t had to block anyone yet, but I also don’t dig into the comments much. I mostly use it to keep up on what creators I am interested in are doing and follow a few accounts for news.

The real nice thing as you can create multiple curated feeds.

Unfortunately due to the forum restrictions, we are not at liberty to truly tackle a conversation about the horrific reality of billionaires and their effect on our hobbies, government, or news media, whether of the emerald nepo-baby variety, or just the run of the mill sociopath kind. Suffice it to say, regardless of how one feels about the them, it's rather concerning that a single person with enough wealth has the ability to purchase an entire social media platform or to have so much effect on public policy.

All fun and games until said rich dude starts making alarming sounds.

Re: "How much is Hasbro?"

Nope. Still not going to care. A tweet about something doesn't make it real.

If rich dude wants to rich dude, he can put his money where his mouth is. Until then, he's all empty swagger. I can get that from any random wannabe influencer with zero followers.
