Someone is Bringing Pizza to the Game Tonight

Pizza: What is Your Preference?

Okay, I've got to take issue with the "meat" die on the right... Anchovies I can handle, but hamburger?

Hamburger has no business being on pizza.

My wife is on a low sodium diet. Hamburger is actually a pretty good substitute for sausage and gives her more variety on her pizza than just chicken.

Also, I make a pretty good taco pizza and hamburger is the meat for that style.

Cheese and pepperoni has its place but there's a whole world of pizza out there many never even try.

Yes to the anchovies! Actually, yes to pretty much anything except pineapple - pineapple on pizza is the worst thing ever. Ever.
Pineapple on pizza was something invented feverishly by mad poets after dreaming of sunken R'lyeh and the coming of the End Times. Ia! Ia! Pineapple fhtagn!

In comparison, anchovies are... well, they're a little salty. I don't mind 'em, but I prefer pizza without 'em. Load it up with pretty much every other kind of meat that the pizza shop's got in house, and I'm good.

That's something completely different... My dad was on a not dissimilar restricted diet after his heart attack and kidney transplant, and in that sort of instance you have to kind of work with what you've got.

I'm not talking about just cheese and pepperoni, either... ham, bacon, italian sausage (I know all those are pretty high in salt, too... ham is less so, depending on the pizzeria), chicken, shrimp. There's all sorts of things. Many of the pizza places around serve Italian beef sandwiches, and so will offer roast beef as a topping on pizza (roast beef or italian sausage with giardiniera on pizza is heavenly).

But you see, I grew up in Minnesota... The only pizza place my mom would order pizza from was Domino's, and the only kind of pizza she would ever eat was hamburger and mushroom pizza. Guh. Hamburger and mushroom pizza from Domino's in Minnesota. It had to be the blandest tasting pizza ever conceived.

Now that I live near Chicago, I revel in my pizza toppings.

One of our family favorites is Ground Beef, Bacon, Green Olives, Cheddar Cheese and BBQ Sauce.

That sounds like the sort of pizza my in-laws from Wisconsin would make... :p

The other is Pulled Pork, Crispy Onions, Green Olives and BBQ Sauce.

Now that sounds pretty good. I'll have to try that one out sometime.

Around here there's a variety of pizza alternately called "the Texan" or sometimes "the S.O.B." It's got sausage, bacon and onions with BBQ sauce.

From Dominos (whose Pizza is much better) I personally like bacon and olives.

My favorite pizza though is probably chicken and spinach with a really good white sauce.

Anchovies are way too salty for my taste.

But you can always call 1 800 lou to go.

I've never had NYC or Chicago pizza. We just don't get that kind of stuff here.
