Someone is Bringing Pizza to the Game Tonight

Pizza: What is Your Preference?

For pizza I'm ordering for myself, its thick crust pepperoni & mushrooms- occasionally with onions and/or black olives- every time.

However, I'll eat just about any kind of pizza, and have enjoyed anchovies on more than one occasion. Godfather's Pizza used to have them on their loaded pizzas, as I recall.

The major caveat, though, is that I have MAJOR, asymptomatic sodium-dependent high blood-pressure...the worst my doctor has seen in his 40+ year practice. So if I'm going to "sin", I prefer to do so with my favorite recipes.

So if someone brought a pizza w/anchovies on it, I might take a piece or two if I were hungry-hungry or had been very good about my diet, but otherwise, I'll probably stick to my home-made trail mix.

No anchovies!

Yes to the anchovies! Actually, yes to pretty much anything except pineapple - pineapple on pizza is the worst thing ever. Ever.

Completely disagree. Best thing ever! Goes very well with tomato, though unfortunately too often you get those two packaged with disgusting pig product in a "Hawaiian" pizza.

Things I've enjoyed on pizzas (not all together...yet...):

Artichoke Hearts
Tomato
Pinapple
Black Olives
Cheese tortellini
Chicken
Shaved Steak (philly cheese steak pizzas)
Bell peppers
Figs
Mushrooms

Yeah, the changing of sauce, crust, and cheese really helped. I like them better than I like Papa John's now.

I didn't realize being better than Papa John's was such a high accolade. English Muffin pizzas I make 20 secs in my microwave with the muffin, cheese, and ketchup is better than Papa John's.

Back in 2004, they had won consumer awards for "best pizza" in more than 60 US markets, including Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Indianapolis and Phoenix. They were miles out in front of any other pizza chain in that regard, at that time. I never liked them very much, but they were the gold standard in commercial pizzerias for a long time. I suppose that might have changed in the last six years.
