Songs & Movies that made you cry.

The end of "It's a Wonderful Life" always makes me well up, and I'm not exactly much of a movie crybaby.

Me as well, but it's from nausea. Gods, I hate that movie. Ah well, different strokes.

I know I've teared up on a couple of movies with my wife, but I can't remember what they were. Some chick flick or another :)

Everybody Hurts by REM will give me a burning lump in my throat every time. The video will break me down entirely.

Cried like a baby first reading through LOTR when I got to the end
and Sam comes back home to Rose and Elanor alone and says "Well, I'm back"
. Hidden for those 1 or 2 people in the world who haven't read the books or heard of the ending (don't know how the movie is going to end, don't want to know for another week or two :) ).

Too many to count. I'm a big baby. When I was a small child, I wasn't allowed to watch Lassie because it upset me too much. I haven't gotten much better over the years.:o

That part in the Dirty Dozen where Jim Brown was throwing these hand grenades down these airshafts...gets me every time. :D

Okay, okay...Day of the Dolphin with George C. Scott. First time I saw the ending of that movie, I bawled like a baby.

Gah. Damn you. Don't make me remember the reference...gah...Damn you Tom Hanks. Damn you to heck.

er

I'm another for Dead Poets Society. Not much else, off the top of my head. I've been known to cry the first time I see a film, but Dead Poets is the only thing that raises a tear on repeat viewings.

Minority Report, when the seer lady is telling the parents what their son would have done if he had grown up.

If you have kids that one will rip your heart right out.

That Minority Report scene was pretty touching, I admit.

The one that got me was an Italian flick, Academy award winner a while back, something called _Cinema Paradiso_. Go rent it. Right now.

I welled up like a little baby at the end of that thing. I don't think any movie ever has made me cry though.

Angels With Dirty Faces can get me at the electric chair scene.
Stairway to Heaven gets me every time, as does the 9/11 Silent Night poem.

I tend to be pretty dry eyed during movies, music on the other hand tends to evoke a bit more of a reaction in me.

OK, as far as movies go:

When Theoden tells Gandalf that no parent should have to bury their child. (Especially after watching the actor commentary on the EE and hearing Bernard Hill say what he summoned up emotionally for that line)

When Oskar Schindler sees the little pink coat on the corpse pile, and then at the end when he's weeping over how many people he could have saved with the possessions he still had.

MEGA CHEESE ALERT:

When Kevin Costner asks his dad to play catch with him at the end of Field of Dreams. Gets me every time. Crap, I'm getting misty just writing about it.
