D&D 5E sorcerous eldritch knights

I haven't looked at the list to see this would work better, but....

You could remove abjuration and add in transmutation. Seems to fit, thematically, with sorcerer.

Lets look at the trade.

It costs you access to handy reactions like Shield and Counterspell, as well as Protection from Energy and Dispel Magic. Banishment and Stoneskin at high level, though I'm not sure if it's really worth worrying about such late career spells. Mage Armor not really worth mentioning in this context.

Gets you access to Expeditious Retreat, Catapult, Feather Fall, Jump, Alter Self, Darkvision, Earthbind, Enhance Ability, Enlarge/Reduce, Knock, Levitate, Maximillian's Earthen Grasp, Pyrotechnics, Spider Climb, Blink, Erupting Earth, Flame Arrows, Fly, Gaseous Form, Haste, Slow, Water Breathing, Water Walk, and at 4th level, the glorious Polymorph.

It really blows the spell list open, and there's a lot of great stuff for fighters in there. If you're not worried about giving EKs much broader spell access to arcane spells, I don't think I'd complain much as a player. The EK can always use their free pick to grab Shield and Counterspell if they really want them.

I wouldn't give the EK sorcerer any sorcery points unless that was their archetype abilities. The EK doesn't get Arcane Recovery, which is nearly as efficient for regenerating spell slots as sorcery points.
