Sorting out the Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines

Why didn't they get back . . . who was it, Eddie Furlong, who played John Conner in T2? Come to think of it, I haven't heard anything about that guy for years.

I don't want to be pointing any fingers but it is rumored that he's got a drug problem.

How is the chronology affected by the fact that the Soviet Union dissolved right after T2 came out? :)

Not at all, I don't think. I don't recall any specific mention of the USSR in T1 or T2, just that there was a nuclear war. And with Dubya resurrecting Son of Star Wars, a self-aware Skynet is again quite topical.

I read a rumor on Aint It Cool News that the new terminator movie is going to be PG-13. If thats true, then I'm avoiding this film like the plague. Its bad enough that Cameron isn't involved, but that would take the cake. A PG-13 terminator might as well be 'The Scorpion King.'

That trailer was groan-tastic. I like the idea of a 3rd movie, even the female terminator but with no Cameron it may be a disaster. And the whole "she will kill us all" thing was just a tad over the top, but that's just nitpicking at this point when we have all those bad one-liners flying around. Oh well.

In T2 Arnold explains to young John Connor how Skynet launches a nuclear strike against Russia in 1997. John says "Russia? I thought they were our friends now?" but Arnold replies that Skynet knows that Russia will retaliate with full force nevertheless.

Probably any country with nuclear weapons would use them if it is attacked with nuclear weapons - though it is, actually, from a "evolutionary" point of view, not very intelligent. ;)

Well, it still fits. :)

I have the first terminator on DVD, there is a deleted scene that should have been left in, IMO. Near the end, a couple of guys in busness suits are looking over the the remains of the terminator, one says "Hey look at this, never seen a chip like this before." the other one: "lets get it up to R+D, see what we can do with it."

Ugh. I'm glad they dumped it. I HATE scenes whose only purpose is to blatantly set things up for a sequel.
