SotD - Beneath Grenton

Quarion regally raises his head and with an air of great self importance commands, "Rogue. Search for traps down that way, and we shall follow you once you have cleared the path." He points down the left curtained hallway.

Jack snaps to attention and tosses off a salute. "Yes sir! Right away, sir!" He dissappears down the hallway with half a grin curling his lip.

A quick search of the short tunnel produces no evidence of further traps beyond the plugged spear trap. The tunnel leads into a small room, again hexagonal. A single straw bed and a small table are the most prominent features. Another small tunnel leads to what might be a toilet - a very deep hole in the ground that can easily be sealed. A small pond grants access to fresh water.

The table sports a few empty vials, something that appears to be shed lizard skin - treated to be an equivalent of papyrus, and writing utensils. One of the skin papers is written on. The last few lines appear hastily scrawled.

Quarion peers at the parchment and shakes his head. "Alas, I cannot. Though I am sure one of our companions above will be able to. Jack shall hold on to it, unless anyone has objection to that?" The haughty elf looks about, not really expecting any dissent. He nods curtly and continues, "Very well then. Jack, if you would...?" Quarion gestures toward the other curtained passage.

As Quarion is looking at the parchment, Farid tries to get a look at the text. "... Hm, no. It may be useful to know now, rather than later, but pressing on is probably more important."

Anticipating the order, Jack, and the parchment he brandished, have already vanished behind the next curtain.

Getting rid of the spear of the trap he sprung earlier, Jack checks the next corridor. It, and the rooms beyond, could almost be thought of as mirrors, except for the furniture. It also sports a straw bed and a small table with lizard-skin parchments, but also a large weapons rack. It is mostly empty now, however. A few small weapons remain behind, a few spears and a sword among them.

A few of the parchments are written on. One of the parchments has two distinct writings on it, one of them in red. It evokes the feel of an official document.

Jack scoops up all the parchments, and returns to report his findings. Leaving the northeast tunnel that points toward Orussus for last, he heads into the uncurtained corridor without waiting for the elf's order...
