Sovelior/Sage SRD

I know how that is. When I was living with my parents, it'd continually happen. "I swear, I wanted to clean up my room today. I was going to do it!"

My parents never believed me, though ;)
There you have it. You made me do it. I put some customers on hold for it. It's up and running. However, the news part and linking on my site has to wait until I'm home.

Tip jar, definately.

Sov-n-Sage SRD is my SRD of choice. It replaces all books at my gaming table, as far as rules questions during play, and replaces my books during prep times, as well. It's well laid out, easy to read, easy to find stuff.

The ONLY thing I need a book for, half the time, is the "Wealth By Level" table in the DMG. I can never remember that thing correctly and it's IP or whatever, I guess.

Is there a place I could download it in a "normal" format (zip or tar.gz)? I have to be really careful about installing new binaries on my home & work PCs.

Well, RavenProject has recieved the zip, so when he uploads it it should be on his site.

b.t.w. nice to see you RavenProject :)

I haven't tried actually downloading it for offline use, though-- I prefer to just use the online version

You should try; everything in it works offline and load times are probably faster.

Hey, you know, as long as you guys are updating the site, you might consider a tip jar.

The SRD is non-profit by pricible. Besides I work on it in waves so at times I hardly work on it at all wich doesn't make me feel like I should be making money on it.

It definitely improves load time, plus if you put it on your local drive you save Raven's bandwidth.

Thanks again, Sage. This thing rocks.

You don't need to install 7zip to unpack the file. Use Total Commander, if you don't already (and you don't know what you are missing if you do not).

That's why I specifically recommend a tip jar. It's not the same thing as charging money for the SRD.

A tip jar is an inobtrusive, unoffensive way for people who use your SRD to show our appreciation. If it buys you a box of miniatures every so often, great.

What kind of a program do I need to open the file? (Not the .zip, the one inside it)
For just about *all* kinds of archives, I'd recommend PowerArchiver (check out places like cnet and tucows, or wherever - it's shareware).

It'll deal with everything from 7zip's to tar.gz's. But of course, your needs and preferences may vary. :)

edit --- here's the features: http://www.powerarchiver.com/features/

hth!

further edit: oops, didn't realise it was now trialware. Sorry! :o
